The cultivators all turned to look at the two maids. They were cultivators too, but only at the Ninth Layer of Qi Refining. They spoke directly: "Sorry for the wait, seniors. Please come with us. Grandmaster Elder Dahuang is waiting in the underground palace." With that, they turned and walked back toward the underground entrance.
The cultivators glanced at one another, then followed the maids into the entrance. Xu Yang and the other two did the same. Once underground, Xu Yang discovered that the place was far larger than it appeared. The entire mountain had been hollowed out, and a magnificent, splendid palace stood before him.
The palace was filled with rock gardens, flying springs, and cascading waterfalls, all exquisitely crafted. Rows of pavilions stood among them. Though the palace was beautiful, Xu Yang had no mind to admire it. Restrictions were everywhere, hiding deadly threats, and he remained on his guard.
Led by the two maids, everyone came to a pavilion on the outskirts of the palace. Faint restrictions surrounded it, emanating powerful waves of spiritual energy. One maid raised her hand and sent out a streak of light. The restrictions immediately faded from view. The two turned to the group and said, "Please come inside, seniors. This is where the Exchange Meeting will be held. Grandmaster Elder Dahuang is already waiting inside."
As they spoke, the two maids stepped into the pavilion, and the other cultivators followed close behind. Xu Yang entered with the group. Inside was an enormous, brightly lit hall, lavishly decorated. A large cauldron stood in the center, sending out waves of fragrant aroma. Many meditation cushions had been placed on either side of it, and an old man stood before the cauldron.
