Background & History

Xu Yang inherited Li Yuan's belongings after Li Yuan's death, including the Heavenly Demon Great Art, Ice Palm, an imperial-secret-agent token, and a credential connected to an immortal. Li Yuan's marrow-cleansing treatment had already improved Xu Yang's aptitude; Xu Yang spent a year studying and training before leaving Xiao Liu Township to pursue immortality. 3

While accompanying the Shunfeng Escort Agency's search for Old Man Tianjue's treasure, Xu Yang survived betrayal, infighting, and severe injuries. In Tianjue's hidden cave dwelling, he respectfully approached the old cultivator's remains and received his Qiankun Bag, cultivation knowledge, and the means to enter the Xiantian Realm. 11 12

His Xiantian breakthrough activated two treasures inherited from Li Yuan: a three-headed, six-armed statue and a black sword. The statue passed down the Indestructible Golden Body Art and a drop of True Spirit Essence Blood, while the sword entered his dantian and continuously refined his Gang Qi. 13

Xu Yang discovered that he possessed a rare but inferior Void Spirit Root, which had no elemental attribute and severely restricted his cultivation options. Rather than abandon cultivation, he chose to develop both the non-attribute Qi Refining Secret Record and the body-refining Indestructible Golden Body Art, relying on resources and the black sword's purification to compensate for his aptitude. 14
