In the gloomy underground structure, gray-black pipes clung densely to the corners of the walls, lurking like the tentacles of a monster.
"Lord Danzo!" A man in black with a green crow mask knelt on one knee, his posture upright.
"Crow Ghost. You have come." Danzo stepped out from the shadows, a sliver of dim light illuminating the scar on his chin, making him look as hideous as a demon.
"Yes, Lord Danzo. I have already tested Uchiha Houka." The Root member, Crow Ghost, said.
"And?"
"I cast a genjutsu on him, but he reacted quickly, attempting to alter his chakra flow to break my technique." After calmly stating Houka's response, Crow Ghost concluded, "His awareness is decent, but his strength is insufficient, and his capacity is not on par with Uchiha Shisui."
"Naturally, Uchiha Shisui is a genius, after all." Danzo revealed a smile, which tugged at the scar on his chin and made him look even more sinister. "Keep a close watch on Uchiha Shisui. As for Houka, leave him be for now."
"Yes, Lord Danzo!" Crow Ghost raised his head, and in his blood-red pupils, three tomoe slowly rotated, revealing a bloody and ominous omen.
The pupils hidden in the darkness of Danzo's eyes shrank slightly, revealing a flash of greed, though it vanished in an instant.
The next morning, before the sky had even brightened, Houka woke up early, prepared breakfast and a lunch bento, placed them on the table, and left a note for Obito before running toward the small woods.
Since his transmigration, Houka's physique had become abnormally monstrous; no matter how exhausting his training was, his stamina would fully recover after a night's sleep. He was simply born to eat the bowl of rice that is taijutsu!
He couldn't be certain who was behind last night's events, but since the other party hadn't dropped the facade, Houka wouldn't be arrogant enough to investigate or make a scene. For him now, silence was the only way to protect himself!
"I must become stronger as quickly as possible!"
When he reached the small woods, Might Duy and Guy were already there.
"Houka, you're late!" Might Duy roared. "Youth cannot be squandered like this! Run twenty laps as a warm-up, and if you don't finish, you're doing twenty thousand jump ropes!"
"..." Houka hunched his shoulders, then resignedly began running around the small woods.
"Guy, what are you standing there for? Chase after him!" Might Duy roared at his son again.
"Yes, Father!" Beneath Guy's thick, bushy eyebrows were a pair of passionate eyes, burning as they stared at Houka's figure ahead.
During yesterday evening's training, Houka's performance had been slightly better than Guy's, so he had already marked Houka as his lifelong rival—the second one after Kakashi.
"Houka, I will surpass you, and then I will go on to surpass Kakashi! I will surpass both of you!" Guy's eyes were practically on fire. He felt his blood boiling and his youth burning; this feeling was simply amazing!
"Ya ya ya!!!"
Guy shouted, his speed suddenly increasing as he instantly overtook Houka.
"..." Houka's eye twitched. Damn it, is this guy Guy a total freak?
Houka could feel that Guy had inexplicably broken through his limits just now, his stamina clearly surging by a significant margin.
He truly is the future Lord Guy.
Relying on the fact that he was six years old, Houka tried to mimic Guy by shouting "ya ya ya ya," but he shouted for a long time without breaking through anything.
This was awkward.
After running around the woods, the two were not spared; Might Duy found a random excuse to make them start jump roping, followed by squats and push-ups.
By the time the sun jumped over the horizon, Houka and Guy were drenched in sweat, so tired that their eyes were rolling back, looking like a pair of dead fish.
"Yosh, that's it for this morning. You two hurry off to class!" Might Duy nodded with satisfaction.
Panting heavily, Houka hurriedly asked, "Uncle Duy, could you please teach me the Multi Shadow Clone Technique?"
"Nani? The Shadow Clone Technique?" Might Duy looked at Houka with surprise. "How do you know about this technique?"
The Shadow Clone Technique was a technique developed by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju. It could create a body identical to the user, simultaneously splitting half of the user's chakra into the clone.
Compared to the illusions created by the basic Clone Technique, the Shadow Clone Technique could be said to be flawless. It possessed a physical form, could attack, and could perform various ninjutsu, though the clone would vanish if it received a fatal blow.
This ninjutsu was only one step away from the Multi Shadow Clone Technique—one of Naruto's signature moves in the original series—which was recorded in the Scroll of Sealing held by the Third Hokage.
Houka said, "Uncle Duy, I heard people in the clan mention it. It can create a physical clone, which is very convenient."
Might Duy frowned and said, "Houka, this Shadow Clone Technique is used for gathering intelligence. Why do you want to learn it?"
Houka immediately replied, "Uncle Duy, I want to use a shadow clone to attend class at the Ninja Academy, while my real body stays with you to train in taijutsu!"
Although Might Duy was an Eternal Genin, he was not weak, nor was his intelligence lacking. He quickly realized the potential value of this Shadow Clone Technique.
In the past, Konoha ninjas used the Shadow Clone Technique to gather intelligence; once successful, they would dispel it, and the clone's memories would return to the main body. If that was the case, why not use it for class?
Knowledge from class, in a sense, was no different from intelligence!
And training—if one used the Shadow Clone Technique to practice hand seals, or even other things... it was too convenient!
"Houka, you are truly too smart!" Might Duy patted Houka's shoulder hard, praising him. "No one has ever thought of using the Shadow Clone Technique for studying and training. You are the first!"
Houka winced; his shoulder was about to be shattered.
Might Duy laughed heartily, then revealed an awkward expression. "But, that..."
Houka smiled bitterly to himself. Of course, Might Duy was an Eternal Genin and a pure taijutsu ninja; how could he possibly know the Shadow Clone Technique?
"But it doesn't matter. The Shadow Clone Technique isn't a very high-level ninjutsu. I will definitely get it for you!" Might Duy promised.
Guy watched from the side, green with envy. "Father, I want to learn the Shadow Clone Technique too!"
Might Duy glanced at him and said, "Guy, how is your training with the Three Body Technique coming along?"
Guy lowered his head.
"Training in the Shadow Clone Technique requires talent for ninjutsu, Guy, you..." Might Duy could not continue, his eyes turning slightly red.
"It's alright, Father! Even with only Taijutsu, as long as I put in enough effort, I can still become an excellent ninja and defeat geniuses like Houka and Kakashi!" The eyes beneath Guy's thick eyebrows burned once again, a vast ocean roaring behind him. In particular, the pearly white teeth at the corners of his mouth refracted a brilliant light in the morning sun, practically blinding Houka's titanium-alloy dog eyes.
"Guy, you truly are my son! This is what you call passionate, never-ending youth!" Might Duy was moved to tears, unable to help himself from hugging Guy.
Guy hugged him back immediately, and the father and son began to wail loudly at the same time.
The scene spiraled out of control.
Houka stood to the side, his terminal stage of social anxiety flaring up.
They're crying already?
Since when did the two of you develop such perverted tear ducts?
Before you continue
