After leaving the Land of Rivers, Kakashi entered the Land of Rain, then detoured through the Land of Birds before entering the Land of Earth. He then set out to sea and reached the Land of Iron by water, before traveling on to the Land of Rice Fields, the Land of Hot Water, and the Land of the Moon. More than half a year had passed. Kakashi had covered nearly half the map of the Ninja World, but in the end, aside from making his title as the Copy Ninja even more renowned, he had gained nothing.

Weathered by the journey, Kakashi felt as though even his hair had turned white. He stood atop a mountain temple in the Land of the Moon, gazing north.

Beyond that lay the Land of Lightning.

Although the Land of Lightning had also signed a peace agreement with the Land of Fire, friction between the two nations still remained. Moreover, Cloud Ninja excelled at Taijutsu, which his Sharingan could not copy. If a dispute broke out with them, it would put Kakashi at a serious disadvantage.
