Standing with his hands behind his back, Lin Huang looked up at the sky.
Suddenly, ripples flashed through the void. In an instant, a long sword thrust forward, unleashing a hundred-foot-long sword light that obscured the sun and moon. The figure was nowhere to be seen, striking directly at the center of Lin Huang's back.
Lin Huang did not turn his head, nor did he dodge or evade.
Rumble!
The sword light crisscrossed and vanished in a flash. A figure stood on the ground, clutching his sword, and offered a disdainful smile. "I thought you had some real skill, but it turns out you're pathetic."
The man shook his head, sheathed his sword, and tensed his body, preparing to whistle and depart.
But just as he took his first step, he suddenly felt a gaze fixed on his back, sharp as a blade, making him feel uneasy and restless.
"You're not dead?!" The man whispered. Without looking back, he moved his feet, instantly splitting into three thousand figures that ran and leaped.
In an instant, across the sky and earth, three thousand figures raised their swords and turned back simultaneously, launching a vicious strike. In the blink of an eye, three thousand swords descended, each faster than the last. The figures overlapped, and finally, like a hundred rivers flowing into the sea, the thousand swords merged into one—a simple, singular strike.
"Light-Splitting Shadow-Forming, Sword Rising to Heaven's Origin! Die!"
Clang!
With a soft chime, the man's face turned deathly pale, and cold sweat dripped down.
"How is this possible?! It was actually blocked!"
The Thousand-Sword-as-One strike, combined with the sensory disruption of Light-Splitting Shadow-Forming, should have been an unstoppable, sudden peak of power. Yet, Lin Huang simply reached out, his five fingers spreading to cover the heavens. Regardless of the Light-Splitting Shadow-Forming or the Sword Rising to Heaven's Origin, he grabbed them all, catching both the sword light and the blade itself in his palm.
"Too strong. I cannot fight this. Retreat!"
The man was decisive; failing his strike, he immediately released his sword and prepared to flee a thousand miles away.
Zheng!
Lin Huang flicked his finger, and the long sword shattered into pieces. With a calm gaze, he watched the man who had just vanished into the void and said, "Light-Splitting Shadow-Forming, Sword Rising to Heaven's Origin. These are the ultimate techniques of the Slaughter Path; I have learned much."
After speaking calmly, Lin Huang opened his hand, made a fist, and without a hint of hostility, threw a punch into the void. "You gifted me a sword, so I return a punch."
"This punch is named Wind!"
As the words fell, the punch landed silently, light and devoid of any killing intent. A thousand feet away, a sudden scream erupted. The void shook, and a figure stumbled to the ground, barely turning back with a face full of disbelief.
"What kind of punch is this?"
"Six Paths Divine Fist. Wind Fist."
"Good. Good. A truly good Six Paths Divine Fist." The figure let out a shrill laugh, looking at Lin Huang with venomous eyes. "Don't get cocky. My senior brother Qiu Xue will avenge me!"
Having said this, his body shuddered. A wind rose from his entire frame, instantly slicing him apart until he dissipated, vanishing into light and shadow on the spot.
Lin Huang's expression remained indifferent; he ignored the man's clamoring and looked down at his own palm, savoring the essence of the Light-Splitting Shadow-Forming and the Sword Rising to Heaven's Origin. Having gained some insight, he looked up to see a sturdy figure walking toward him from a hundred feet away.
The footsteps were heavy, each one landing like a mountain, carrying a crushing pressure that made the earth tremble and groan. The man's gaze was steady as he looked at Lin Huang, and suddenly, he began to run.
Thump, thump, thump!
Every time a foot landed, it was as if someone were swinging a giant hammer against the earth. The ground shook, and stones within a hundred feet were launched into the air before exploding with a loud bang.
Lin Huang watched the newcomer with a steady gaze, his mind clear and sharp, instantly grasping the man's origins.
"Earth Eight Extremes. A disciple of the Eight Extremes Fist Saint. Not bad."
The sturdy man was not surprised or flustered when Lin Huang called out his origin. Steady as a mountain, he clenched his fist, raised his hand, and brought it down with a roar.
Earth Eight Extremes. An ultimate technique created by the Eight Extremes Fist Saint.
It cleverly transformed the heavy power of the earth to its absolute limit. Hence, it was called Earth Eight Extremes, known as the most rigid and fierce yet agile fist technique.
The punch descended without any visible change, but the moment Lin Huang moved his hand, the punch seemed to anticipate his every move, tracing an arc, twisting, and thrusting toward the sky, slamming into Lin Huang's chest with even greater ferocity.
Upon landing the hit, the sturdy man's expression turned solemn and sacred. His heavy body moved like a nimble monkey within three feet of Lin Huang, unleashing a storm of attacks.
Punches, kicks, shoulder strikes, and headbutts—every part of his body became a weapon to kill the enemy.
Boom, boom, boom!
The sturdy man fought for ten breaths, throwing eight hundred and ninety-seven punches. He believed that even a mountain of Metal would be blasted to pieces under his violent assault, but the sensation in his hands told him that his opponent was still alive.
Thus, the sturdy man held his breath, not daring to stop, and continued his violent barrage.
Lin Huang remained expressionless, allowing the sturdy man to bombard him without retreating a single step. He carefully sensed the mysteries of the Earth Eight Extremes, gaining further insight.
"I'm done fighting." The sturdy man suddenly pushed away, gasping for air, nearly exhausted. The Earth Eight Extremes was the most rigid of fist techniques; even with the sturdy man's strength, throwing three thousand seven hundred and eighty punches left his hands powerless and nearly collapsed.
"You are actually a perfected Divine Body. Hell, who can even beat you?" The sturdy man's face turned pale, his eyes filled with shock and disbelief.
Lin Huang nodded; the sturdy man was at least open and honorable, possessing a certain heroic spirit.
"You let me witness the Earth Eight Extremes, so I will show you one of my punches."
As he spoke, Lin Huang opened his hand, grabbed, and clenched. Under the sturdy man's horrified gaze, he swung his arm. With a single punch, it felt as if he had grabbed the entire earth, held it in his palm, and struck it toward the sturdy man.
"What a terrifying punch."
The sturdy man cried out in alarm, "What kind of punch is this?! It's so rigid and overbearing to such a degree!"
"This punch is named Earth," Lin Huang said calmly.
BOOM!
The burly man was instantly blasted apart, leaving behind only one sentence: "Satisfying! I'll remember you. Once I master the Heavenly Eight Extremes, I'll come looking for you again."
Lin Huang turned his head, and the seven people who had arrived together behind him swallowed hard, looking at Lin Huang with a hint of terror.
"I recognize the guy who just got blasted away by a single punch. He's a disciple of the Eight Extremes Fist Saint."
"I know him too. I ran into him during the first preliminary round; he was incredibly ferocious. I never expected him to be blown away in one hit."
"This guy is too strong. We'd better not provoke him."
"What are you talking about? We're lucky that the seven of us brothers were grouped together. If we don't take this chance to wipe out some strong enemies, are we just waiting to die later?"
"That's right. No matter how strong this guy is, can he really take on the seven of us combined? Hmph, as long as we work together, others should be the ones fearing us. Everyone, set up the formation!"
The seven of them whispered among themselves for a moment before reaching a decision. Their figures flickered as they each took their positions, surrounding Lin Huang in the center.
"A battle formation." Lin Huang nodded, feeling a spark of interest.
"Seven Star Lamp Lighting! Big Dipper Divine Chief!" The seven men whispered as they encircled Lin Huang, coordinating with one another to deploy their formation.
Lin Huang immediately recognized their origins: "True Martial Dojo. Big Dipper Seven Star Formation."
The True Martial Dojo was also a famous sacred land, though it had fallen out of the Ten Great Sacred Lands after the True Martial Great Saint passed away. However, their strength could not be underestimated, especially their battle formations. The Yin-Yang Sword Formation, Three Talents Sword Formation, Five Elements Sword Formation, and Big Dipper Seven Star Formation were all peerless battle formations renowned throughout the Myriad Worlds.
It was said that even if they were only at the General rank, as long as they formed a True Martial Dojo battle formation, two could fight a Marquis, and seven could fight a King.
That was why Lin Huang was immediately interested in this Big Dipper Seven Star Formation.
"Alkaid!"
With a loud shout, the seven men activated the formation. A single sword strike was launched, but seven swords shimmered, and in an instant, it was as if a galaxy had fallen. The field was filled with brilliant, undulating starlight, and every ray of light was a sword.
The light was boundless, and the swords were likewise boundless.
"It really has some merit." Lin Huang was delighted to find such a worthy opponent. Without blocking or dodging, he took a step and walked straight into the starlight and the sea of sword light.
