"You said Sarutobi Hiruzen wanted to see me?" Richard asked.
That day, after meeting with the Third Hokage again, Tsunade returned and said that the Third Hokage wanted to see him, asking whether Richard wanted to go.
"No. Too much trouble." Richard turned a deep-blue bead over in his hand.
"Is this the Tenseigan you mentioned to Katsuyu?" Tsunade curiously studied the deep-blue bead. As for Richard saying he did not want to see the Third Hokage, so be it. She had never expected this guy to give anyone much face anyway.
"Yes, this is the Tenseigan." Yesterday, Richard had taken some time to visit the moon and retrieve the Giant Tenseigan.
As for the mixed-blood Otsutsuki clan on the moon, they only discovered that their clan's supreme treasure had been stolen after Richard took the Giant Tenseigan. Yet they had not found any trace of him at all.
After all, the Otsutsuki clan had already been nearly wiped out through their own infighting. The branch family had launched a rebellion and killed the main family, while the branch family itself had suffered heavy losses under the main family's desperate resistance. Only a dying old man and a blind child remained.
Under such circumstances, how could they possibly have had the strength to notice Richard? To some extent, not noticing him was actually a good thing. Their supreme treasure was gone, but at least they had survived.
Richard even had enough time to observe Kaguya Otsutsuki, who was sealed inside the moon.
Unfortunately, the Sage of Six Paths and his brother had sealed Kaguya far too thoroughly. The densely packed seals made Richard's scalp tingle, and he could not see anything inside the seal at all.
With Richard's current reserves of Sealing Technique and Magic Arrays, opening that seal would probably require a long period of research. It would be easier to break it by force.
But for now, he had no intention of releasing Kaguya.
Since he could not see Kaguya, studying the Sealing Technique on the surface was not bad either. To seal Kaguya, the Sage of Six Paths and his brother must have brought out all their best techniques.
Only after spending several hours studying the Sealing Technique did Richard leisurely return to the Ninja World.
Richard had not found the passage leading to the moon. He had flown there directly, and the round trip still took some time.
After returning, Richard gave the Giant Tenseigan to Katsuyu as promised. But Katsuyu could not use it.
This Giant Tenseigan had been created by the Otsutsuki clan on the moon by combining the eyes of their clansmen. It naturally possessed a bloodline-recognition function. Those who were not Otsutsuki simply could not use it, though perhaps the Hyuga clan could.
Katsuyu could not possibly transplant Byakugan just to use this Giant Tenseigan.
Although the Slug Sage had also purchased the Alchemy Xia Mi uploaded, too little time had passed for her to produce many useful results. After all, the Ninja World did not have the enormous difference in time flow that Coiling Dragon World did.
So she could only ask Richard to modify it, at the very least removing its usage restrictions. If possible, it would be even better to change its energy source from Chakra to Natural Energy or Sage Chakra.
After Richard got his hands on it, he spent some time modifying the Giant Tenseigan, transforming it from a giant sphere several meters tall into the bead now resting in his hand.
Now, anyone could use this bead. It could also run on Sage Chakra, which was more efficient and more powerful than ordinary Chakra.
But Natural Energy would not work. Natural Energy and Chakra conflicted severely. Directly injecting Natural Energy might damage this Tenseigan bead.
This could be considered a bit of practice. Through this modification of the Tenseigan, Richard had gained some ideas for modifying the Rinnegan and Kamui Eye in his possession as well.
The main issue was still energy. He had no Chakra, nor did he plan to cultivate the Chakra system. He had to convert the energy system into his own Divine Power system.
After playing with it for a while longer, Richard tossed the bead to Katsuyu. Upon catching it, Katsuyu directly transported it back to Shikkotsu Forest.
For the Slug Sage, this was a fine treasure that could directly raise her level of strength.
Seeing that neither of them intended to reveal anything more, Tsunade went back to relay the message to the Third Hokage.
"Won't see me?" the Third Hokage muttered. It had been a long time since he had encountered someone who gave him so little face.
Forget it. If the mountain would not come to him, could he not go to the mountain? As long as he wanted to, he would find a chance to meet him. Since arriving in Konoha, this man had stayed in the Senju Ancestral Residence without ever stepping outside. No one knew what exactly was going on with him, and Tsunade would not say anything when asked. He had to see him.
Meanwhile, after Tsunade left, two people dressed in Anbu uniforms came to the door.
Danzo had waited several days, but Richard never left the house, leaving him unable to find an opportunity to make a move.
So Danzo decided to wait no longer and simply force the issue. As long as Richard was in his hands, Tsunade would have no choice but to compromise.
Richard looked at the two Anbu before him, who claimed that the Hokage had summoned him, and clicked his tongue in wonder. As expected of Danzo. Even when seeking death, he had to race against time. Richard had clearly been staying home peacefully, yet Danzo had still come knocking. Then he could not blame Richard.
There were countless scapegoats in the Ninja World. Anything whose true culprit could not be found could simply be pinned on Danzo.
Tsunade had just said that the Hokage wanted to see him, yet before she could even report that he did not wish to go, Anbu had come to forcibly summon him?
Tsk, Danzo really was utterly unscrupulous. It was all confidence fostered by Sarutobi Hiruzen. No matter what he did, Hiruzen would clean up after him.
"Fine. Since the Hokage has summoned me, let's go." Richard stood and followed the two so-called Anbu.
Even though the path they took was clearly not toward the Hokage Building, even as the route grew more and more remote, Richard said nothing.
Not until they arrived at the Root base and met the bandaged man, Danzo.
"You don't seem surprised?" Seeing Richard so calm and composed, Danzo frowned. This reaction was not what he had expected. To prevent any accidents, he had even sent a squad to follow them in secret. The moment Richard showed the slightest resistance, they would move immediately.
But Richard had followed them here without any resistance. Even upon seeing the Root base, he had not hesitated in the slightest.
Something was wrong. Very wrong. Danzo immediately waved his hand. "Take him down."
No matter what the situation was, he would subdue Richard first and ensure that the situation remained under his control.
Meanwhile, at the Hokage Building.
An Anbu came to Sarutobi Hiruzen's side and quietly reported the situation.
Tsunade...
She heard him. There was no need to pretend to be so cautious. If he truly had not wanted her to hear, he should not have said it in front of her.
Danzo had taken Richard away, that was all. In any case, Richard would not be the unlucky one.
Ever since she returned, she had remained under Anbu surveillance. Anbu had also been watching outside her ancestral home the entire time, and she knew it. Therefore, Danzo taking Richard away could not have been hidden from the Third Hokage.
"Tsunade, this was an accident. I guarantee that Danzo will not harm your friend," Sarutobi Hiruzen said. Although he had not expected Danzo to take Richard away, he felt it was fine to let Danzo test the waters first.
"You should think about how to collect Danzo's corpse instead. Danzo is as good as dead," Tsunade mocked.
Sarutobi Hiruzen frowned. Tsunade had that much confidence in that man? Was he really so strong? Impossible. Even if Hiruzen himself went to Root's headquarters, he could not guarantee that he would emerge unscathed.
