They immediately freed the slaves on the ground, then went elsewhere to release even more slaves.

Once the battle began, no one would have the time to care whether these slaves lived or died.
He would free them first. If they still died later in the aftermath of his battle with World Government powerhouses, Richard would not feel much guilt.
He had kindness, but not much. As long as it took no extra effort, he allowed himself a little of it.
When he fought powerful enemies in the Coiling Dragon World, he had accidentally injured quite a few ordinary people as well, and he had not felt guilty. In a life-or-death battle against a powerful enemy, being unable to spare attention for others was perfectly normal.

After Richard dealt with those two, Lin Feng and the others split into pairs and scattered to deal with the remaining powerhouses.
The chaos continued to spread, quickly alerting the Five Elders, who openly controlled the World Government.
