2015-2016 Regular Season Standings

With the games ending that day, the 2015–2016 Regular Season officially came to a close.

The final East-West standings had all been decided.

In the East, the Cavaliers finished with a 61–21 record.

Tyronn Lue gave James absolute freedom on the court. Though defense remained a problem, the Cavaliers' offense had clearly improved.

The Knicks went 56–26 to finish second.

Their record was not much different from last year's, and the Anthony-Howard pairing remained competitive in the East.

The Raptors went 55–27, finishing third in the East.

The growth of DeRozan and Lowry allowed them to remain strong throughout the Regular Season.

Those three teams were also the East's only 50-win teams.

An extremely rare scene then appeared in the standings that followed.

The Heat, Hawks, and Hornets all finished 47–35.

They were ultimately ranked according to their head-to-head records and their records against Eastern Conference teams.

The Heat were fourth, the Hawks fifth, and the Hornets sixth.

The seventh-place Pacers managed only a 44–38 record.

The Nets finished eighth at 43–39. They returned to the Playoffs after a year away, and Russell's performance was extremely eye-catching.

The Celtics ranked ninth with a 40–42 record.

After being brutally crushed by the Pelicans, they suffered a long losing streak and took more than half a season to recover. In the end, they regrettably missed the last train to the Playoffs.

The Eastern Conference Playoff matchups were also set.

The Cavaliers would face the Nets in the first round.

The Cavaliers had performed well after changing coaches. James was about to teach Second overall pick Russell a lesson, just as he had once done to Rose.
