"What are you all doing?"
A weary voice came from the other end.
The four Qi Feis turned to look. A haggard, black-haired middle-aged man stood there.
It was the sort of feeling you got when you were on night duty in a hospital department and happened to run into an unreasonable family member making a scene.
You'd finally managed to calm him down when the emergency department called to say they'd sent you a patient.
You went to take a look, and, damn it, they'd sent someone who was barely hanging on to an ordinary ward instead of the ICU. Were they trying to let the patient die here so the family could make a scene?
You rushed to transfer the patient, and when you finally got back to the department, you saw that one of your own patients had developed another problem.
You'd finally dealt with that, and your butt had barely touched your chair when the intern under your supervision came over, fidgeting with her fingers, to apologize.
She'd forgotten to submit a case report before the deadline, which meant you'd have money deducted from your pay this month.
Looking at the poor intern, who'd worked for nothing and wasn't getting paid, you couldn't bring yourself to scold her.
In the end, all you could do was sigh, open a food delivery app, and tell the intern to order something.
Since things had come to this, you might as well eat first.
The story above came from a Senior Brother in the neighboring department, based on his own experience during Qi Fei's internship.
That Senior Brother still had half a night of surgery ahead of him, along with the delightful experience of being singled out and chewed out by the department head during the handover the next day.
So when Qi Fei saw him back then, he felt as if the man had already lost half his life.
This middle-aged man looked several times worse than that Senior Brother had.
"Holy crap, where did this ultimate wage slave come from?"
A crisp, alluring voice rang out.
Several Qi Feis looked over.
Well, damn. A beautiful girl.
And not just any beautiful girl—a super exotic beauty, 180 centimeters tall, with a huge bust, long legs, green hair, snake-like pupils, and elf ears.
Her bandeau top and short skirt showed off her slender waist. Her fair, taut stomach, complete with just the right amount of definition, made people want to reach out and give it a couple of pinches.
She wore white fishnet stockings, whose fine mesh made the shape of her legs look exceptionally beautiful.
On top of all that, she had a light gray jacket draped over her arm, giving the exotic beauty a youthful, energetic air.
It did a great job of balancing out the worn-out vibe of the middle-aged wage slave beside her.
"I'd expected this, but seeing it for real still makes me sigh."
Heavenly Jewel Change Qi Fei, whose body was half covered in scales, sighed.
The feminization and beastification essential to Clone Cultivation—one of them had now appeared.
No, this feminized version of him seemed to have some unusual bloodline traits too. Looks like feminization and beastification had combined.
"Great! The feminized version of me is a beautiful girl."
Shen San Qi Fei clapped as he spoke.
"Oh, look at that perfect little stomach! Great Creator, I can't help wanting to sing the praises of your handiwork."
Coiling Dragon Qi Fei spoke in the sort of tone commonly used by the court nobility of the Yulan Continent.
"Shouldn't you three be paying attention to the wage slave first?"
Dou Po Qi Fei couldn't help complaining.
Clearly, that Qi Fei's situation was more serious, wasn't it?
"Oh, right, there's another person here. Sorry, the beautiful girl, brimming with youthful energy, was just too powerful."
Coiling Dragon Qi Fei spoke without a trace of guilt.
Compared to a worn-out middle-aged man, a beautiful girl who was easy on the eyes was obviously more important.
"Don't worry. Our current strength is enough to handle the early-stage problems in most worlds."
Shen San Qi Fei spoke up to reassure him.
"You're all still yourselves. You can get hurt, too."
The worn-out middle-aged man had already absorbed all the information.
"Even I was bewitched by this beauty? I really am guilty of too many sins."
Beautiful Girl Qi Fei spoke smugly.
"I bet you were born into this world."
The four Qi Feis looked at one another, then spoke with absolute certainty.
If they'd possessed someone else's corpse, they wouldn't have adapted this quickly.
"As expected of me. I really do understand myself."
The beautiful girl gave everyone a thumbs-up and winked her right eye cutely.
"She's adorable, but knowing it's me inside makes me feel utterly unimpressed."
Dou Po Qi Fei complained.
"Well, it's not narcissism."
Heavenly Jewel Change Qi Fei said casually.
"So, which worlds did you two end up in?"
Shen San Qi Fei asked.
"Swallowed Star, 2056. Luo Feng hasn't taken the college entrance exam yet."
The Decadent Middle-aged Man replied.
"World of All-People Witches, 1994. It's 1993, so theoretically, the original protagonist hasn't had a chance to transmigrate yet."
Beautiful Girl Qi Fei figured she was supposed to answer in the same format.
"All-People Witches, huh? Not bad."
Coiling Dragon Qi Fei said.
The witches in the World of All-People Witches might have the same name as witches in other worlds, but these witches were a lot more exciting.
The witches there were actually somewhat like zombies.
They possessed profound intelligence (Lin Zhaojun's formidable battle sense counted as intelligence too);
immense power (Angelite, the Ultimate Witch and leader of the Great Witches, once went swimming in the River of Time while drunk, without any protection, and came out unharmed);
and beautiful appearances (they were all beauties, and many witches could bewitch people with their looks alone).
But they really were a kind of creature extremely similar to zombies.
Even the weakest witch carried a vast quantity of Witch Virus in her body.
If a witch was injured and bled in a world, the Witch Virus inside her would spread along with the blood.
Any living thing, nonliving thing, or even the world itself (provided there was enough virus) that came into contact with the Witch Virus would irreversibly transform into a witch.
But most creatures couldn't withstand the transformation.
They either turned into a lump of rotting flesh or became some sort of misshapen monster.
Only a tiny number of powerful beings or lucky ones could survive the transformation and become witches.
One of Jiang Han's teachers, Hestia, had been transformed from a devil of Hell into a witch.
Witches who had undergone the transformation enjoyed all the rights of witch society.
The Witch World was a modern world with highly advanced magic and incredible productivity. On top of that, witches were a powerful race that could punch the Dragon Race and kick demons.
So no matter how difficult it was, countless races wanted to become witches.
"I think this world is great, too."
Witch Qi Fei idly played with her long green hair.
"There's food, there's drink, and there's plenty of fun. It's practically perfect, except that getting stronger is a little slow."
"Getting stronger is easy enough. We have Sharing."
Dou Po Qi Fei waved a hand.
He'd only just entered the Dou Zhe realm, but after Sharing once, he'd become a Dou Emperor.
"If I join the Sharing, are you sure you won't get infected by the Witch Virus I share over?"
Witch Qi Fei asked gravely.
She'd rather carry on as she was than harm the other Qi Feis.
The Witch Virus was no joke.
It was terrifyingly adaptable and genuinely capable of wiping out every living thing in an entire world.
"We can reject specific things when we Share. Don't worry; it's not difficult to set up."
As Shen San Qi Fei spoke, he reached out to Witch Qi Fei.
"Really?"
Witch Qi Fei reached out hesitantly, but still didn't dare take his hand.
So Shen San Qi Fei grabbed hers.
Then Shen San Qi Fei saw Witch Qi Fei's past.
Just as they'd guessed, Witch Qi Fei had been born into this world—or, more accurately, hatched into it.
Witches were oviparous.
When two witches—both female—came together, they decided which one would lay the Witch Egg.
The one who laid it was considered the mother on the maternal side, while the other was the mother on the paternal side.
Generally speaking, the paternal-side witch married the maternal-side witch, but there were exceptions. After all, witches were a rather chaotic race by nature.
Of course, that had nothing to do with Qi Fei.
She was a Witch Egg that had hatched by accident, after everyone had thought it was a dead egg.
Witches were naturally chaotic, and while they laid eggs at a high rate, the eggs had a very low hatching rate.
So they'd sell their own Witch Eggs for money without hesitation, or use them up as consumable materials.
The shells of Witch Eggs could be used to make Egg Drafts, which were far better than other collecting tools.
Qi Fei had been sold as a dead egg and sent straight to the Egg Draft production line.
Then the Witch Agency's law enforcement division and the police raided the Egg Draft company and rescued Qi Fei, who was about to hatch but, for some reason, hadn't grown bigger.
The law enforcement officers had been drawn there by Qi Fei, but the company really had broken the rules—it had been evading taxes.
So it wasn't exactly unjust.
Afterward, Qi Fei hatched normally at a government relief facility and began attending kindergarten.
Perhaps because of her transmigration, Qi Fei developed a bloodline mutation.
A bloodline with the traits of both water serpents and Sea Sirens awakened inside her. It enhanced her magic and gave her a particular talent for music and water-element shaping spells.
So as soon as Qi Fei passed A1, she chose to go play in a band without hesitation.
A1 was the Witch Qualification Certification Exam.
You could take it at any one of three ages: ten, eighteen, or twenty.
Passing meant officially becoming a witch, making you eligible to explore low-intensity Folded Spaces and receive a monthly allowance of materials from the government.
There were also A2, the advanced exam at the Witch Research Academy, and A3, the International Standardized Qualification Exam for the Arcane Arts.
The former could be compared to the professional certification exams for different careers in her previous life.
But since witches were a spellcasting race, both the variety of subjects and the difficulty were on a whole different level.
Qi Fei had only passed the A2 exam in Herb Cultivation so far.
As for A3, it was an exam that every powerful witch in the Witch World had to pass.
As a famous spellcasting race in the universe, witches who couldn't pass this exam would be mocked, no matter how powerful they were.
Take the famous Lin Zhaojun, for example.
She could beat every witch senseless in the dueling arena, but because she hadn't passed A3, people teased her about it all the time.
That said, the A3 exam followed international standards, while powerful witches were always capable of twisting those standards out of shape.
As a result, Lin Zhaojun was often dissatisfied with the answers to A3 questions.
And whenever that happened, Angelite would use practical combat to show Lin Zhaojun what the standards were.
You want to twist the results, huh? I'll twist them right back.
(Witch Duels had many restrictions, so a witch like Angelite couldn't use her full strength. In a real fight, Lin Zhaojun couldn't beat Angelite.)
So Lin Zhaojun was always troubled by A3.
Even by the end of the original story, Lin Bao still hadn't passed A3. It was cause for celebration—or, rather, commiseration.
Anyway, after passing A1 at eighteen, Qi Fei went off to play in a band.
In witch society, becoming stronger required money.
Spell research cost money, potion ingredients cost money, and lucky encounters that increased your magic cost money...
And as an orphan witch raised by a government agency, Qi Fei had no other way to make money.
So she could only use the voice she was fairly good at to earn a living.
But though she called it playing in a band, her musical ability wasn't particularly impressive compared to other witches who seriously studied the craft.
What she could do was use her voice to convey her emotions, then use those intense emotions to move other witches and stir their hearts.
In a way, it was a little like the girl idols of her previous life.
Witches were a race that was rational and emotional, and also extremely fond of having fun.
So Qi Fei's approach worked fairly well.
Thanks to it, Qi Fei earned enough to research spells and buy a house in South City.
After that, she sang to earn money while studying Herb Cultivation and developing new varieties of plants. Not long ago, she'd successfully passed the A2 exam.
After celebrating with her friends, Qi Fei was ready to keep pushing forward.
First, she used her decent A2 score in Herb Cultivation to get a job as a teacher at the Future Protagonist Tutoring Class.
She planned to use the job to get close to the protagonist, then use the protagonist's connections to meet powerful witches and buy things she normally couldn't get her hands on.
Then she prepared a large pile of materials to make up for the shortcomings in her bloodline and help her advance further.
Stronger witches were more popular with other witches, which would make it easier for her band to earn money.
But right at that moment, the memories of Qi Fei's previous life fully awakened.
Then she arrived in this space.
"Your life has been pretty eventful."
Shen San Qi Fei fell silent for a while, taking time to process all the information he had just received.
As mentioned before, Witches were a rather chaotic race.
To give a simple example, in the all-female Witch World, futanari were actually a popular kink.
And Witch Qi Fei played in a band.
"Isn't playing in a band all about that stuff? Smoking, drinking, and chasing women. I don't like the first two, so I could only focus on the last one."
Witch Qi Fei argued her case with conviction.
"Well, damn."
The other Qi Feis grew very interested and began touching Witch Qi Fei.
Well, except for Swallowing Qi Fei. He hadn't practiced refusing Sharing yet, so it was Shen San Qi Fei who shared with him.
Then the other Qi Feis pulled their hands away, stunned.
Never mind all the stuff that wouldn't pass censorship. Just hearing that she had been involved with every member of the band and some of their fans at the same time was enough to leave the other Qi Feis reeling.
"Everyone was one of my wings. What was wrong with that? Besides, I've turned over a new leaf now, okay?"
Witch Qi Fei defended herself.
She'd only let loose a little because she hadn't had a goal before.
Since she started studying for the A2, she hadn't even dated one girl. She was way better than those guys who hung around the Little Witch Club every day, okay?
But no matter how she tried to explain, the other Qi Feis all had the same response.
"That's badass."
