Chi Wanning no longer knew how long she had fought or how many she had killed. There was not the slightest sign of her falling to demonic corruption; instead, she had swept forward unstoppably, leaving all demons utterly defeated.
Demons did not fear death. They always surged forth in swarms, marching in droves to their deaths.
Yet demons seemed impossible to kill completely. Once one wave was slain, another would come.
Fortunately, purification could effectively resolve all of this.
Whenever a region of the Demonic Realm was purified, no Demonic Beast would ever breed upon that land again.
Chi Wanning had not fallen to demonic corruption. She had merely begun to feel numb inside.
She had even started to question why she had come here.
What had they come here for, exactly?

Too many answers made no sense, and so her troubles continued to multiply.

Chi Wanning stood in the sky above that blood-soaked wilderness, gazing into the distance at the endless demon corpses.
Under the rippling holy radiance, every demon corpse dissolved away, and a new stretch of purified land was emerging.
"Linlang, it's been three years since we came in here, hasn't it?" Chi Wanning asked leisurely.
Linlang Tian drifted over. "More or less. There are no sun or moon in the Demonic Realm, making the passage of time hard to discern. We can only rely on our hearts to tell."
"But even the heart may not be able to tell clearly." Chi Wanning murmured softly.
"You're still thinking about Husband?" Linlang Tian asked. She could
