"What if I showed you a photo proving who the leaders are?"
"A photo?"
"That's right. I'll use a camera to capture the information on the leaders' Identity Cards from both classes.
If we work together, I'll share the photos with Class A.
I'm sure you know that faking photos on this island is impossible, right?"
Ryuen explained calmly. He was confident that Sakayanagi Arisu would agree to work with him.
After thinking it over, Sakayanagi Arisu suddenly laughed. "Heh heh... It does sound promising. So, what are your terms, Ryuen?"
"Equipment and supplies, plus the leaders' information, in exchange for every student in Class A paying Class C 20,000 Private Points a month."
Sakayanagi Arisu almost laughed. "I think you may have overlooked something, Ryuen. Class C has made enemies of both Class B and Class D, so Class A is the only class you can turn to for cooperation.
"But it seems Class A doesn't need a partner. We're 400 Class Points ahead of Class B. We can just stick to our plan. There's no need to risk signing a parasitic contract like this, don't you agree?"
Ryuen Kakeru looked at Sakayanagi Arisu, whose eyes glinted with amusement.
He was beginning to understand just how difficult this seemingly harmless, sickly little girl could be.
He didn't want to admit she was right, but for Class C, which had adopted a "zero-point" strategy, earning more Points could only be a good thing.
Since Sakayanagi had turned him down, it was time for both sides to haggle.
"Then what do you think would be a fair number of Points for Class A to pay?"
"7,000 Points."
"Not enough."
They silently weighed their offers, haggling back and forth again and again.
"Uesugi Hara, got anything to eat?"
