The line before them was not particularly long, probably because they had arrived early, but it was not exactly short either.
Students really did have plenty of free time during summer vacation; even a fortune-telling booth could draw so many people.
And they were basically all couples, with only a few people who had come with friends.
Uesugi Hara even spotted a few teachers and school staff.
It seemed this fortune-teller really did have some "skill."
Looking at the line ahead, Uesugi Hara shook his head. "I don't really have any questions. You two can go together; I'll sit this one out."
"That won't do," Sakayanagi Arisu said in a gentle yet firm tone that brooked no refusal. "Since we're already here, wouldn't Uesugi like to give it a try?"
"Can I not go?" Uesugi Hara tried to struggle. "I'm kind of missing the air conditioning in my dorm room."
"Nope."
The August morning sun had long risen high into the sky, and the scorching air made everyone feel unbearably uncomfortable.
Uesugi Hara sighed helplessly. His gaze casually swept over the two beautiful girls beside him. Perhaps because of the height difference, he only had to lower his eyes slightly to easily see their delicate profiles and the slivers of fair skin exposed at their collars. Sweat slid down Kamuro Masumi's temple, adding another touch of heat to the scene.
"Fine. Then let's finish early and head back early."
"That's more like it." Sakayanagi Arisu nodded in satisfaction, then asked, "So, has Uesugi decided who he'll team up with?"
"We'll talk about that later."
The line was moving slowly. Uesugi Hara's gaze fell on a vending machine some distance away, and he asked, "Want something to drink?"
Though they were under the shade of trees, the sweltering air still made
