After steering the Metal Lifeform toward a small border town in the Putuoluo Empire, Lincoln soon arrived. The Walun Plane wasn't very large, and with his strength, it didn't take long to reach the town.
Teluzake jumped out of the Metal Lifeform, dug three holes beneath a crooked tree, then dug three feet into the ground. At last, he found the spatial ring. Lincoln and Aier watched from inside the Metal Lifeform through its transparent exterior. "Well, that's certainly a very simple way to hide something."
Teluzake washed the spatial ring clean in the nearby river, then immediately returned to the Metal Lifeform. He lowered his head slightly, held out both hands, and presented the ring in his palms.
Aier took the spatial ring first and was about to inspect it when she realized it was locked. Her Divine Sense couldn't scan it.
"Teluzake, how are we supposed to look inside if you haven't undone the binding?" Aier said with a chuckle.
Teluzake flushed with embarrassment and hurriedly released the binding. Aier probed the ring with her Divine Sense again. A moment later, her expression suddenly turned solemn. When she looked up, she seemed bewildered. After a few breaths, she turned to Lincoln and instinctively held out the ring to him.
Seeing Aier's strange reaction, Lincoln smiled. "What could possibly surprise you that much? You've seen all kinds of treasures. Don't tell me there's a Sovereign Spark in there!" He teased her as he took the ring and probed it with his Divine Sense.
The first thing he saw was heaps of gray stones, stone bars, and slabs: Nether Stones. There were a lot of them, but Lincoln didn't care in the slightest. Next came several High-God Artifacts, some for offense, some for Material Defense, and even a Soul Defense Artifact. Then there were dozens of God Sparks in various colors, of all ranks, along with some strange odds and ends, books, food, and...
A gray, translucent, glass-like crystal, similar to a God Spark, appeared in Linley's Divine Sense. It radiated green light and an awe-inspiring, terrifying power...
There really was a Sovereign Spark!
It was undoubtedly the very one the Nether Fruit Tree would refine in the future. Thinking it over, both Teluzake and Aofen would most likely head to the Underworld after obtaining this spatial ring—and ultimately pave the way for someone else to become the Nether Sovereign.
If possible, perhaps one day he could trade this Life Sovereign Spark for the Thunder Main God Spark, which was also missing. As for the idea that "Deity-level experts wouldn't care about wealth," that was all bullshit now!
Mebis's words—"Why did I choose the wrong path? I was clearly just one step from the peak. What a pity I chose the wrong path"—had obviously referred to his cultivation path. He had no talent for the Life Law. Otherwise, he too would have become a Sovereign!
"Teluzake, before Mebis died, did he repeatedly emphasize anything to you?" Lincoln suddenly asked.
Teluzake hurriedly replied, "Teluzake has only one wish: to become your disciple, sir!"
Lincoln looked up, his expression a little dazed.
Lincoln nodded again. This boy, like Mebis, had fortunately come into possession of a Sovereign Spark. But sadly, he hadn't been able to become a Sovereign either. Then Lincoln looked at himself and Aier. They were in the same predicament: fortunate in one way, unfortunate in another. Neither had an aptitude for the Life Law, so neither could use this Sovereign Spark.
Of the only seventy-seven Sovereign Sparks in existence, one had blundered into his field of vision, defenseless, and now lay quietly on this tiny Material Plane!
Lincoln closed his eyes to collect himself. What kind of absurd luck was this?! For more than ten million years, he'd never come across a Sovereign Spark! Even obtaining that Dark Sovereign Spark had taken every ounce of effort and caution, and a hundred thousand years spent completing the Overgod Mission. If a Sovereign Spark had simply appeared before him like this back then, he wouldn't have needed to work so hard!
After a moment, he calmed down and exchanged a glance with Aier. She nodded to confirm it, and only then did he examine the Sovereign Spark again. Judging by its aura, it was a Life Law Sovereign Spark. Unfortunately, neither he nor Aier could use it. But a Sovereign Spark was a Sovereign Spark. Even one they couldn't use was an immensely important strategic resource.
Lincoln took Aier's hand and gave her a reassuring look. Discovering a Sovereign Spark only to find that she couldn't use it was a serious blow, especially since she had achieved Internal Godhood and could never cultivate the Life Law.
"Teluzake, we have to admit that Mebis's wealth truly was more than any Deity-level expert could use in a lifetime. In fact, it's not merely wealth—it's a treasure trove. I can't turn it down. Tell me what you want, and I'll grant it," Lincoln said solemnly.
Lincoln fell silent, studying Teluzake as he thought. "Since you insist, I'll accept. First, I'll cultivate you to Saint-level. Then you'll come with me to the Chainis Plane to train. Once you've made progress, you'll go with my envoy to a Divine Plane or the Supreme Plane to gain experience and strive to become a true powerhouse as soon as possible."
Teluzake was stunned. He hadn't been sure whether Mebis's wealth would be enough to sway Lincoln and Aier. But the reactions of these two Deity-level experts from the Life Divine Realm when they saw the spatial ring had surprised, delighted, and excited him. "He did say something. He repeatedly warned me that after I reached Saint-level, I had to cultivate Life Magic and make it my top priority. He also said I absolutely mustn't refine a Divine Spark, but had to become a god independently. I asked him why, but Grandpa Mebis only told me to do as he said. He also said I'd understand once I became a Highgod."
Binding a Divine Artifact or Sovereign Artifact didn't require any particular level of strength. But while training on a mere Material Plane, Teluzake would have Lincoln to teach and protect him, so Lincoln didn't think he needed an artifact. Its sharpness and durability might instead make Teluzake rely on it and hinder his progress. As for Sovereign Artifacts, they could only be granted to Sovereign Envoys or family members. Teluzake was a disciple, not family, so Lincoln couldn't grant him one unless he made him a Sovereign Envoy.
Teluzake was overjoyed and immediately bowed to Lincoln. "Teluzake greets you, Teacher!"
As he watched Teluzake kneeling below, Lincoln thought about expanding his circle of Sovereign acquaintances. He hadn't once dared hope he could obtain that unowned Thunder Main God Spark, but now he had this Life Sovereign Spark as a bargaining chip. If the mountain wouldn't come to him, he could go to the mountain. He could take the initiative and visit Sovereigns he didn't know well and had little contact with, and perhaps uncover some clues about the Thunder Main God Spark. Maybe, just as Augusta had once kept his Dark Sovereign Spark for him, this Thunder Main God Spark was in the hands of some Sovereign who needed something he had. They could trade what each needed, and everyone would be happy.
