Background / History

Augusta was one half of a Bula Clan individual split into two bodies and souls. Orf embodied the calm, research-focused side, while Augusta carried the same being’s desires, greed, violence, lust for power, and other discarded negative traits. Their separate actions consistently benefited one another, though Augusta insisted that he and Orf were distinct individuals. 127 178 180

Before Lincoln’s rise, Augusta and the Darkness Chief Sovereign Dark jointly plotted against Aikes, a Paragon Darkness Sovereign, leading to Aikes’s death. Augusta later retained Aikes’s Darkness Mid-level Sovereign Spark, which eventually appeared in a Material Plane and was refined by Lincoln. 5 8

Unable to reproduce in the ordinary sense, Augusta adopted more than a hundred talented children from Material Planes to form the second generation of the Augusta Family and maintain the appearance of a human household. 97

Augusta is described as a handsome man whose attractive appearance contrasts sharply with his volatile temperament. He maintained a luxurious residence on Divine Light Island and frequently surrounded himself with attendants, dancers, and beauties. 85 97 166

He lacked Orf’s patience for cultivation and research, preferring luxury and immediate gratification. Even so, Augusta could act pragmatically when survival demanded it: he revealed his Soul Defense Supreme Artifact to halt Lincoln’s assault and later accepted Lincoln’s humiliating terms rather than die outright. 85 173 179

His cruelty extended to subordinates and mortals. During a period of frustration over Clementine’s disappearance, he killed performers and attendants merely for displeasing him. 168

Dispute over the Darkness Sovereign Spark

Augusta challenged Lincoln over the Darkness Mid-level Sovereign Spark that had once been in his possession. He attempted to demand a favor from Lincoln and proposed a spar, but Orf intervened and accepted Lincoln’s black arrow as compensation instead. 16

Hunt for Hikari

Augusta and Koriate arranged a trap around false information concerning a Thunder Sovereign Spark, pursuing Hikari after luring him away from the Life Divine Realm. Hikari’s Light clone was destroyed amid the clash between Augusta’s sword strike and Vivian’s intervention. 103 106 107

The resulting Sovereign judgment failed to conclusively prove Augusta’s premeditation. Augusta and Koriate swore Supreme God Oaths, Augusta was required to apologize, and Hikari retained his Sovereign status. 115

Conflict over Clementine and Faith

Augusta pressured Clementine to assist in research connected to Lincoln’s abilities and accepted Clementine’s service in spreading the Church of Light and collecting a pure soul. Lincoln used Clementine’s testimony as grounds to confront Augusta publicly in the Light Divine Plane. 163 165 168

Pursuit by Lincoln

After Lincoln accused him of stealing faith, seizing souls, and targeting Pusluo, Augusta fled through Plane Teleportation Arrays and the Spatial Turbulence. Lincoln revealed that he had been a Paragon Intermediate Sovereign from the beginning and later exposed his Three-Element Paragon status. 169 170

Orf intervened with an imitation of Thunderhoof’s Space Cut to protect Augusta, but Lincoln broke free and tested Augusta’s hidden defenses with successive attacks. 171 172 173

Defeat and Death

When Lincoln and Vivian attacked Orf and Augusta simultaneously, Vivian restrained Augusta with Life Drain and Plant Prisons. Augusta was severely wounded and unable to meaningfully aid Orf before Lincoln killed Orf’s other half. 175 177 178

Lincoln offered Augusta survival on the condition that he surrender Orf’s research and produce a Bula Clan child. Augusta accepted after Lincoln swore to research a way to restore Bula Clan memories. 179

Hela extracted Augusta’s memories, after which he produced the White Giant Egg. The act exhausted his life force; Augusta died shortly afterward, leaving behind his Sovereign Spark and associated war spoils. 183 184
