Chapter: Black
"The Sovereign Spark is truly the most precious treasure in the Panlong Universe, far surpassing any Highgod Artifact. Once one is refined, not only does your strength skyrocket, but your status changes overnight, your cultivation speed becomes heaven-defying, your resources become limitless, and the gap created is beyond measure," Lincoln couldn't help but sigh.
Not long after Lincoln began creating his divine plane, five god-level powerhouses returned one after another to the Chines material plane. Before the Cyan Light Jade Wall, Lincoln's water-element divine clone and Aier sat in the main seats, while the five figures knelt halfway on the floor below.
Lincoln took a sip of tea, his gaze sweeping over the group. "You have all been personally guided by me, yet the strongest among you has only reached the Seven-Star level. Your cultivation speed is still a bit slow."
Lincoln shook his head as he spoke; such strength was far from enough to serve as a Sovereign's envoy, and it wouldn't even suffice for simple tasks. The strongest individual in the Plane Prison was only at the Six-Star level, even less useful.
"We have disappointed you, my lord." The group, who had been feeling smug about being summoned back, instantly felt a massive weight of pressure.
Lincoln waved his hand and sighed, "This is not your fault. Who doesn't want to become stronger? Let's do this: there are still some things I can entrust to you. From today on, go and inquire about a material plane called the Yulan Plane. Report to me as soon as you have results. Here are ten drops of Sovereign's Might as a reward; take them and divide them among yourselves!"
The man in the middle took the jade bottle containing the Sovereign's Might and kowtowed, saying, "Harvey and my four brothers will definitely complete the mission with all our strength!"
"Take your time, there is no need to rush. Finding this plane may take a very long time," Lincoln had searched for the Yulan Plane himself once, but unfortunately, it had been a fruitless endeavor; he suspected it might not be called by that name yet. Calculating the time, he had just completed his sixth Highgod mission, and there was still a very long time—perhaps even over a hundred epochs—before the fall of the Four Divine Beasts. "Once you find it, map out the situation of the plane. Whoever finds it will receive a reward of another hundred drops of Sovereign's Might."
After Harvey and the others left, Aier looked at Lincoln. "Is there something special about this Yulan Plane? I remember you mentioning it before."
"It does have some unique aspects, though I am not entirely certain yet," Lincoln said nonchalantly.
Seeing that Lincoln did not want to elaborate, Aier changed the subject. Suddenly, she stroked her stomach and said shyly, "Lincoln, I... I want a child."
Lincoln's expression steadied, his eyes burning as he stared at Aier. Seeing her shy yet firm demeanor, he couldn't help but say, "Alright." As he spoke, he leaned in, pulled Aier into a tight embrace, and the clothes manifested by divine power vanished into the wind...
After a night of passion, Lincoln and Aier lay quietly on the grass, staring blankly at the sky, speechless for a moment. It had been millions of years before they finally pierced through this "window paper."
Suddenly, Aier's voice sounded again, "Lincoln, you are a divine beast; this time might not be enough..." Her voice grew quieter and quieter.
Lincoln was stunned, then began to chuckle. "That's right, I am a divine beast, and a super powerful one at that—the only one of my kind in the endless planes."
Aier turned her head away, refusing to look at him, but Lincoln laughed even louder.
"By the way, Aier, according to the Sovereign's agreement, I can give my family one Sovereign Artifact—an offensive one, a material defensive one, or a soul defensive one. Which one do you want?" Lincoln asked suddenly.
"Family..." Aier couldn't help but let the corners of her mouth rise, and she immediately began to think seriously. "I have only fused three profound mysteries, and I am not skilled in offense as a water-element user. An offensive Sovereign Artifact wouldn't help my strength enough, and it would be like a three-year-old carrying gold through a busy market. A defensive Sovereign Artifact would be better. Can you help me think about which one to choose?"
"A material defensive Sovereign Artifact is more suitable, as you mainly focus on self-preservation. Once you encounter a strong enemy, you can use Sovereign's Might, which would make you equivalent to a powerful Asura. Coupled with the fact that the water element is naturally good at defense, you won't have to fear soul attacks. Even if the enemy is too strong and you can't block them even with Sovereign's Might, or if you don't have time to summon me, you can exile yourself into the spatial turbulence. With a material defensive Sovereign Artifact, you can be guaranteed safety while waiting for me to rescue you." Lincoln analyzed it carefully. After finishing, he took out a golden silk soft armor, a small bottle of water-element Sovereign's Might, a flask of darkness-element Sovereign's Might, and three summoning scrolls, handing them to Aier. Aier put them away one by one and immediately dripped blood to bind the Sovereign Artifact.
The two embraced tightly once more...
Darkness Divine Plane, Shuangning Prefecture, Darkness Mountain Range, Black Gold Hotel.
"Big Brother Lincoln, you are truly amazing. In the few hundred years you've taught me, I have actually fused two profound mysteries! I am now considered a Five-Star Night Demon! I really want to go take the assessment now and let them know my strength," a youth said excitedly to Lincoln.
Lincoln smiled faintly and patted his shoulder. "Percy, you have enough talent and are willing to work hard. In the future, you will definitely be able to right more wrongs!"
Percy laughed happily and went to show off to other guests in the hotel. These guests found this idiotic behavior hard to endure, but out of respect for Lincoln, they never dared to make a move.
Lincoln looked quietly toward the summit of the main peak of the Darkness Mountain Range, thinking to himself, "Black, when will you finally return? The side dishes for the wine are already prepared; I am just waiting for you."
Time passed, and in this hotel, Lincoln waited quietly for over twelve hundred years. Finally, he felt a surge of death divine power streak across the sky above the Black Gold Hotel, flying straight toward the summit of the Darkness Mountain Range.
Just a few decades ago, Lincoln's Sovereign clone had completely stopped building the divine plane, but in the end, he had failed to take that final step toward becoming a Paragon. Now, after a millennium of plotting, he had finally waited for his target. Lincoln revealed a heartfelt joy. "I have finally waited for your return, Black."
As he spoke, he left the room, walked to Percy's door, and knocked.
Percy opened the door and smiled, "Big Brother Lincoln, it's you. Is something the matter?"
Lincoln did not speak, his eyes flashing with a holy light. Percy suddenly became a bit sluggish, but soon he perked up, his face full of righteous indignation as he spouted nonsense, "Big Brother Lincoln, are you saying that the one who just flew over is the Black we have been waiting for? This guy is cruel, vicious, and commits every evil. It was worth waiting for him all these years; I'll go kill him right now!"
A trace of reluctance flashed in Lincoln's eyes, but he said, "Go, carry out your justice!"
At the summit of the Darkness Mountain Range, Black had just returned from traveling through the material planes. He had thoroughly enjoyed his status as a god-emperor in the material plane and felt refreshed, his thoughts clear. His darkness divine clone was supposed to return with him, but he had accidentally discovered a rare treasure of heaven and earth and felt it might actually help his strength improve, so he stayed behind to study it.
His death divine clone also possessed Asura-level strength and did not fear danger, so he had returned first.
"That arrow seems to have the effect of increasing the penetration of divine power, but it must be nurtured with divine power; the longer the time, the stronger the penetration. I wonder if, were a Sovereign to nurture it with Sovereign's Might, it could break through a defensive Sovereign Artifact?" Black felt the information transmitted by his darkness divine clone and couldn't help but ponder.
