Victoria stared wide-eyed at Ergane and whispered to the girl at her desk, "It's only been a few days. Does Dark already have a new flame?"
The girl did not dare call a professor by name and murmured, "She's only just arrived. Maybe she's a transfer student?"
Victoria asked, "Our academy accepts transfer students too?"
"Of course it does," the girl said. "I even heard that, long ago, there was a transfer student from the Holy Church!"
"The Holy Church?" Victoria said in surprise. "Don't they have some kind of Secret Rite Academy there? Why would they leave their own academy to come to ours?"
"I wouldn't know," the girl said. "It's only something I heard from others."
Ergane was, after all, an unfamiliar face, and Professor Sylph had not introduced her during the opening ceremony. Once the possibility that she was some new professor with a childlike face and body had been ruled out, the first-years naturally assumed that she was a transfer student.
