This duplicate came with its own intelligence; it was not truly one person playing two roles.
Principal Arte's duplicate still needed to "synchronize" with the original body in order to share information.
However, barring special circumstances, this "synchronization" could be performed anytime and anywhere. In practice, it was not much different from instant communication.
