While Dark pondered the changes in Matthew's mindset, he completed the final deck construction and inserted it into his Duel Disk.
Once the duel field had finished connecting, there were two Preparation Phases totaling six minutes.

Dark asked.

Thus, the duel entered "Preparation Phase 1," and both Duel Disks automatically shuffled their decks.
Then, after a mere ten-second countdown, it entered "Preparation Phase 2."
A thirty-second countdown began. Both duelists drew their cards simultaneously.
Once their five-card hands were in place, it was time for rapid planning. But Dark merely lowered his head for one glance and immediately understood.
He had long since mastered these decks inside and out. No matter what hand he drew, he could make the most of it.
