Those magic spirits were, remarkably, miniature Pixies. Set against a dazzling halo of light, they looked like butterflies and dragonflies alike, fluttering their wings as they giggled their way into the sky.
"Legion-type Magitech Cards" were not especially rare. But a legion-type Magitech Card capable of summoning this many at once was truly unprecedented.
Heral froze for a moment, but his superb combat instincts made him react at once, activating his Arcana.
His Arcana Card was called "Mirror Beast." It was an Arcana forged from the legend of "the beast within." The so-called beast within was a manifestation of human desire. It meant that every person harbored a savage beast in their heart. In the legend, a witch used this principle to curse humanity, causing everyone in an entire town to be devoured by the beasts born from within their own hearts.
And in that story, those beasts within were born from mirrors whenever people looked into them.
Heral's "Mirror Beast" could imitate those inner beasts. When an opponent summoned a magic spirit, it could replicate and transform that spirit. Most duelists used their most crucial Magic Spirit Cards at the start of a magitech duel.
Heral simply copied them and made them his own.
The magic circle beneath his feet lit up again, and ugly winged fairies radiating black light rapidly poured out from it.
