[Dipplin]'s Ultimate Move configuration gave it extremely strong damage-taking capabilities, overall surpassing [Appletun], but its offensive shortcomings were difficult to make up for.
Dark could now selectively evolve [Applin] into [Dipplin] or [Flapple/Appletun] through his own use of the powers of [Greed] and [Gluttony], without using a [Great Sin Card].
Because there were requirements regarding how satisfied [Applin] was, he could only choose one.
Under normal circumstances, he should keep [Applin] in a state where its greed had not yet been satisfied, then choose between [Flapple] and [Dipplin].
However, after evolving [Applin] into [Dipplin], Dark was astonished to discover that [Dipplin] actually had another evolutionary stage!
The second evolution also used [Gluttony]!
Under the effects of [Gluttony IV V], [Dipplin] smoothly completed its second evolution and became the nine-star [Hydrapple].
After completing its second evolution, [Hydrapple]'s size increased enormously, shooting up from its original 0.4 meters to a height of 1.8 meters.
The "apple" it lived in had consequently grown much larger as well.
Then, the green worms living inside the apple increased from two to seven at once. They were called "serpent bugs." The largest serpent bug in the center, responsible for issuing commands, now had two horns on its head, with a small apple impaled on its left horn.
The four smaller serpent bugs surrounding it usually hid beneath the syrup, exposing only their leaf-shaped eyelids. When these four serpent bugs poked their heads out, Hydrapple appeared to have five heads.
The other two serpent bugs, like the "inner bugs" before evolution, exposed their tails from behind the apple.
In most circumstances, [Hydrapple] acted under the command of the central serpent bug that showed its head, but the seven serpent bugs were highly fickle and could not always coordinate seamlessly.
However, when they occasionally became of one mind,
