Garen returned to Mist Valley and came to the edge of the cliff, then slowly floated down.
Now that he had mastered Weightless Strength, with the power and battle aura of a Level 7 Warrior and the God-Slaying Blade, killing Seventh-Level Magical Beasts was as easy as cutting grass.
The reason Mist Valley was filled with so much fog was that countless Water-style Seventh-Level Magical Beasts, the Green-Veined Giant Pythons, regularly exhaled it. Their breath produced the Level 1 Water Mist Spell.
Seventh-Level Magical Beasts gave him just the experience he needed. And although the Green-Veined Giant Pythons had tough skin, it was still no match for the sharp God-Slaying Blade. They were easier to kill than ordinary magical beasts.
So Garen decided to start by clearing the Green-Veined Giant Pythons from the cliff face.
After descending a hundred meters, red dots appeared on his Map Function. Garen tapped the God-Slaying Blade against the cliff, making a sound.
Sure enough, it immediately caught the attention of several nearby Green-Veined Giant Pythons. They flicked their tongues and slithered toward him.
They crawled over the cliff as easily as if it were level ground. Thinking their prey had come to them, they scrambled to get there first. They had no idea that merciless slaughter awaited them.
Soon, four Green-Veined Giant Pythons drew near. Three charged at Garen with their jaws gaping, apparently afraid another of their kind would snatch away their meal.
"Swish, swish, swish."
Garen struck swiftly and cleanly three times. The three Green-Veined Giant Pythons were killed instantly, and he stored their heads in his Space Ring.

The last Green-Veined Giant Python, which had been lagging behind, saw what happened. Its body trembled with fear, and it turned to flee.
Garen silently recited a magic incantation.
His self-created spell, Explosive Overlord Spear, took shape—a combination of the Level 6 wind spell Roar of the Wind and Explosive Fireball.
The Sun Stone and Breeze Stone gave it a ten-percent boost.
Garen hurled it with the strength of a Level 7 Warrior, unleashing immense power.
Boom!
The fleeing Green-Veined Giant Python's head exploded. It was dead!

And so Garen floated downward from above. By the time he reached the valley floor, he had killed more than a dozen Green-Veined Giant Pythons along the way. He put all the experience into his Magic Level.
Once his Magic Level reached Level 7, he would study Flight Spell. With it, he could pursue magical beasts or make a quick getaway with ease.
The valley floor was a vast plain, overgrown with weeds. Even without the Map Function, Garen could see a long way with the naked eye.
Green-Veined Giant Pythons slithered through the grass.
Not far away was a herd of Earth-Walking Dragons, numbering over a hundred. Unfortunately, they were Level 6 Magical Beasts, so killing them now wouldn't earn him any experience. Garen had no interest in them.
Farther off, Velociraptors wandered about leisurely. Some drank water, some strolled around, and others slept.
I'm going to make a fortune. They're all experience! What a great place.
Garen thought excitedly.
He started with the nearest Green-Veined Giant Pythons. As soon as he approached, they became walking experience.
Since he killed the Green-Veined Giant Pythons instantly, he made no loud commotion, and the other magical beasts didn't come swarming over to attack him.
Garen soon killed more than a dozen Green-Veined Giant Pythons, and his Magic Level reached Level 7.
He paused his killing spree and began studying the Level 7 wind spell Flight Spell in the area he had cleared. (Ernst Institute only taught magic up to Level 6; it had no spells above that.)
Half a month later, Garen finally worked out Flight Spell. As long as one had enough magical mental strength, Flight Spell was actually one of the easiest spells to learn.
Garen resumed his killing spree.
Over the next few days, he killed almost every Green-Veined Giant Python within a dozen miles of the plain—more than a hundred in all. He couldn't be bothered with the ones on the cliff face. There were plenty of monsters around, and flying all the way over to hunt those would be a waste of time.
He gained over forty thousand experience and put it all toward his Warrior Level.
His Warrior Level reached the middle stage of Level 7.
He got two Reinforcement Stones and one Socketing Stone.
He got two Level 1 Gems: one Level 1 Critical Hit Gem, which gave him a two-percent chance of landing a critical hit, and one Level 1 Blessing Gem, which reduced his consumption of magic power, battle aura, and mental strength by ten percent when using magic and battle aura.
Finally, he got two Primary Experience Cards.
Garen directly reinforced the God-Slaying Blade twice.
He removed the Level 1 Breeze Stone and replaced it with a Level 1 Critical Hit Gem.
The Level 1 Breeze Stone only boosted wind magic and battle aura by ten percent, while the Critical Hit Gem gave all his attacks a two-percent chance of landing a critical hit.
In battle, it was better to cripple one finger than injure all ten. A critical hit could raise the upper limit of his attack power.
He used the Socketing Stone on the Tiger God Armor, then socketed it with a Level 1 Blessing Stone.
God-Slaying Blade: Deals immense damage to magical beasts below the God Realm. (Upgradeable) Gem sockets unlocked (two slots).
Level 1 Sun Stone: Increases the character's fire magic and battle aura damage by ten percent.
Level 1 Critical Hit Stone: Gives the character a two-percent chance of landing a critical hit when attacking.
Tiger God Armor: Provides powerful protection against magical beasts below Level 8. (Upgradeable) Gem sockets unlocked (two slots).
Level 1 Black Gem: Increases the character's speed by five percent.
Level 1 Blessing Stone: Reduces magic, battle aura, and mental strength consumption by ten percent when using magic and battle aura.
"Now that the God-Slaying Blade has been reinforced again, with its power, my Tiger-Striped Warrior transformation, the Level 7 Mage spell Extreme Speed, and the Black Gem's speed boost, I can use my speed advantage to fight even Ninth-Level Magical Beasts at their peak."
Garen couldn't help thinking.
But his defense was too weak for now. He'd better reinforce the Tiger God Armor. Then he'd be invincible beneath the Saint Realm. Heh heh.
Having a goal gave him motivation. Garen skirted around the Earth-Walking Dragons' territory and crept toward the Velociraptors.
Velociraptors weren't pack animals, so they were scattered about one by one.
Before he mastered Weightless Strength, killing a huge Velociraptor took some effort. Now, with the God-Slaying Blade upgraded, he could easily pierce their scaly armor. A single strike using Weightless Strength concentrated his battle aura into one point and unleashed it in an instant—enough to kill a Velociraptor outright.
Another merciless slaughter began. Garen killed almost every Velociraptor wandering within a twenty-kilometer radius.
More than eighty Level 7 Velociraptors gave him over twenty-eight thousand experience.
He got a Reinforcement Stone, a Level 1 Black Gem, and two Primary Experience Cards.
He used the Reinforcement Stone to reinforce the Tiger God Armor.
The system had told him before that gems could be combined. Garen removed the Level 1 Black Gem from the Tiger God Armor.
As he held the two Level 1 Black Gems in his hands, the system's notification sounded.
"Combine?"
"Yes."
Ding! Combination successful.
Looking at the Level 2 Black Gem in his hand, Garen was still excited. He imagined combining gems all the way up to Level 10. With the God-Slaying Blade and Tiger God Armor equipped, his combat strength would multiply several times over. He couldn't help laughing.
He immediately socketed the Level 2 Black Gem.
