After leaving the Sunset Mountain Range, Garen traveled north along the border between the ancient Yulan Empire and the Magical Beast Mountain Range. He chose not to enter any cities, opting instead to stroll along the wild trails.
Occasionally, when inspiration struck, he would draw the God-Slaying Blade to practice his swings, or climb high mountains to take in the scenery...
In these desolate wilds, especially along the edge of the Magical Beast Mountain Range, one would still frequently encounter adventurers and bandits.
When encountering the former, Garen would step aside to avoid misunderstandings, but when he encountered the latter, he left none alive.
Even with his seemingly casual pace, in less than twenty days, he had traveled from south to north, crossing the entire Yulan Empire to reach the O'Brien Empire.
Just as he arrived at the border of the O'Brien Empire, heavy snow began to fall from the sky.
Garen saw a small town in the distance, where every household was decorated with lanterns and streamers, preparing for the ten-thousand-year Yulan Festival.
Time flies so fast; in the blink of an eye, I've been away from home for several months again.
Walking into the town, he saw children playing and laughing in the snow, accompanied by their beaming parents. These heartwarming scenes suddenly made Garen freeze in his tracks.
His parents' faces appeared in his mind, and Garen's gaze grew distant as he recalled his father's teachings and his mother's tender care...
A moment later, Garen snapped out of it and said to Xiao Pa with a smile.
"We're going home, too."
The townspeople were shocked to see a small bird transform into a giant eagle over ten meters long. After Garen flew away, they all began to chatter.
"Heavens, what did I just see? That was a Saint Realm magical beast! I never expected that young man to be a Saint Realm powerhouse. He even smiled at me just now..."
What Garen did not know was that this border town would later change its name to "Saint Realm Town" because of his appearance, and a Saint Realm powerhouse would truly emerge from it.
Sitting on the back of the Golden Sun Eagle, Garen was suddenly filled with emotion.
"I don't know when it started, but I seem to have integrated into this world. I miss my parents, care for my friends, and cherish old acquaintances."
The journey of over ten thousand kilometers was no issue. Garen, who had intended to head straight to the Holy Union to complete his side quest, was suddenly overcome by a powerful impulse; he truly missed home.
After more than sixteen hours of non-stop flight, the cold wind at high altitude did not extinguish his enthusiasm for returning home; instead, it acted like wind on a fire, making his longing for home burn even more intensely.
Finally, he was home.
From high in the sky, looking down at the Light-Extinguishing City in the early morning, lanterns and streamers were everywhere. Some of the lights from the previous night had not yet been extinguished, giving him a feeling reminiscent of the New Year from his past life.
The ten-thousand-year Yulan Festival was something almost everyone on the continent took very seriously.
Garen flew toward his family's estate.
As soon as he entered the gate, he saw his father, Clark, practicing in the courtyard during his morning routine.
"Father, I'm back."
Clark could not hide his surprise, but he did not stop his training.
"Mm, go tell your mother. She's been talking about you for the past few days."
"Alright."
A person who could reach the level of a sixth-rank warrior solely through physical training was very rare on the continent. Although Clark possessed the Tiger-Striped bloodline, physical training was much harder for him compared to the Dragonblood family or the Undying family.
It seems that after I finish this side quest, I must help Father awaken his bloodline as soon as possible. Otherwise, if he gets too old, I don't know if it will affect his future achievements.
Afterward, Garen found his mother and told her he would stay to celebrate the ten-thousand-year Yulan Festival with them, which made her incredibly happy.
The next day was the ten-thousand-year Yulan Festival. When his uncle's family learned that Garen had returned, they all came over: his uncle Arthur, his aunt Leo, and their two children, his cousin Abel and his cousin Angelia.
The family was full of laughter and joy. Although Garen was just a junior, his cousin Abel and cousin Angelia both knew he was a Saint Realm powerhouse and admired him greatly.
Happy times are always short-lived. The next day, Garen said goodbye to his parents and his uncle's family once again and left home.
He headed west. This time, he did not bypass the Magical Beast Mountain Range. After the Yulan Festival, it was estimated that most magical beasts would be attacking the cities, so Garen flew directly across the Magical Beast Mountain Range and arrived in the territory of the Holy Union.
The area of the Holy Union near the O'Brien Empire was still relatively safe for the time being.
After resting for a night, Garen set his bearings and headed toward the Hess Kingdom. He soon arrived at the capital of the Hess Kingdom, Hess City.
Seeing the massive city from afar, Garen landed; he did not want to make such a high-profile entrance.
Approaching Hess City, Garen found a hotel near Keyan Street, paid for a month's stay, and settled in.
"Sigh, finally here. I can get some good rest for a few days."
A few days later, Garen watched the crowds on the street slowly growing larger and knew that the magical beasts were likely about to attack. The number of soldiers in Hess City had also increased significantly, and the priests and knights of the Radiant Church had gathered as well. They were actively preparing for battle, seemingly intent on blocking the magical beast army outside of Hess City.
After finishing a hearty lunch, Garen had nothing to do and was strolling down the street when he suddenly saw three familiar figures.
"Boss Yale, George, Reynolds."
Garen shouted out loud.
The three of them looked over, and upon seeing Garen not far away, they quickly trotted over.
Yale walked straight up and gave Garen a punch to the chest.
George and Reynolds also walked over and patted Garen on the shoulder.
Reynolds even poked at the muscles on Garen's body, clicking his tongue in wonder.
"Garen, why are you here? Didn't you go to the Light-Extinguishing City in the Luo'ao Empire to find your uncle?"
Yale had been in regular correspondence with Garen and generally knew his whereabouts.
"I heard about the riots in the Magical Beast Mountain Range and was worried you might be in danger, so I came over to the Light Alliance to check. I only arrived in Hess City a short while ago myself."
"You guy, why are you acting like a warrior? Have you given up on practicing magic?"
Reynolds looked at the burly Garen, who was carrying a long saber on his back, and asked.
Although they all knew Garen was a Tiger-Striped Warrior, his talent for magic was equally monstrous.
George had a more steady personality, so he couldn't find a moment to interject.
The three of them hadn't seen each other in a long time, and once they met, they had endless topics to discuss.
Just then, a fat man weighing over three hundred pounds walked over.
"This must be the genius from the Ernst Institute that Yale often mentions, Garen, right? Hello, I am Munro Dawson, the chairman of the Dawson Chamber of Commerce."
Yale's father had been listening nearby for a few moments before walking over.
"Hello, Uncle Dawson."
Garen greeted him politely as well.
"I really have to thank you this time. If it weren't for your reminder to Yale to transfer our valuables in the Holy Union and the Dark Alliance early, our Dawson Chamber of Commerce might have suffered heavy losses this time."
"Uncle Dawson, Yale and I are brothers. He helped me a lot back at the institute, so this was only right."
"Haha, good, good. You young people should be like this, helping each other. I won't disturb you any further, but you had better find a suitable place to chat; it's a bit inconvenient out here on the street."
After saying this, Munro Dawson left with a team of guards.
"Come on, Garen, let's head over there. Not far from here is one of our Dawson Chamber of Commerce strongholds in Hess City; let's go chat there."
Yale led the group toward a mansion not far away.
I would like to thank book friend 20220831080600975 for the monthly ticket, Suifengqugan for the stable six recommendation tickets every day, and several other book friends who, although they don't provide many, vote one every day. I would like to thank you all collectively here. I'm in a good mood today, so I'll write an extra chapter, haha.
