Two nights later came the Cat Lamp Appreciation Festival, held nine times a year.

This festival commemorated the household cat lamp ranch policy established by the Long Sleep Witch. The policy allowed witches who could not afford school—tuition on the European Continent was crushingly expensive—to attend by "raising cat lamps to earn Long Sleep Witch Foundation scholarships." It could be called a benevolent policy that had benefited the people back then.
