As they gradually integrated into life in the Demon Realm, humans had slowly fallen in love with Battle Ball, this "new sport" that combined individual confrontation with teamwork.
It was not only about spectacle and confrontation; most crucially, it was about coordination, which was equally vital in actual combat.
Humans had only been exposed to Battle Ball for a short time, yet they had displayed astonishing comprehension in it. However, compared to Devil Race teams with abundant experience, there was still a vast gap. Besides humans, the human united team on the field included elves, beastmen, and Surface World dragons—a genuine "multinational force." Though they gave it everything they had, the united team still trailed by a crushing score of one to six, while their opponents were merely Crimson Blood Team, one of Darkmoon Territory's two league teams.
Though the score gap was huge and Crimson Blood Team controlled the game most of the time, the human united team did not give up. They continued fighting fiercely for the ball, while the cheer squads of the Surface World races in the stands showed their team the utmost enthusiasm and encouragement, as though they were the ones in the lead.
In the end, Crimson Blood Team won easily, eleven to three. The spectators did not leave, because an even more exciting second match was coming up: Tulip Team of the Fallen Angel Empire against Ecido Team of the Blood Fiend Empire.
These two Battle Ball matches were merely preliminary rounds for Battle Ball in the Demon Realm Grand Games. This Demon Realm Grand Games was divided into two main
