"You've decided?" Catherine asked Chen Rui. The moment she learned of his decision by phone, the Shadow Empire's Empress, who was usually too swamped with state affairs to get away, had come to Dark Moon without a second thought.
It was not only Catherine. Shea and Tiffany had come as well. All their family and friends were here.
"I've decided." Chen Rui nodded. Catherine looked at the women but said nothing, only hugging Dodo tightly.
"How confident are you?" Ben Hong asked this time.
"Maybe... ten percent." Chen Rui answered honestly.
"So that means you have no confidence at all?" Isabella sighed. "You want to go to the Surface World and defeat Quiliana without even a ten-percent chance?"
"It's not that I want to take such a risk. Quiliana simply isn't giving me—or this world—a chance." Chen Rui raised his head and looked at the gloom blanketing the sky. The shapes of those dark clouds had changed drastically, growing ever more similar to the landscape below. From afar, they resembled a blurred reflection.
In the vision Qi Lanya had foretold, that "reflection" would grow clearer and clearer. Once it fully took shape, it would overlap with the real world. Like creation and destruction coming into contact, everything would be utterly annihilated.
It was not as though Chen Rui and Qi Lanya had not tried every possible method. Even when the dark clouds had first appeared, everyone had attempted to deal with them, but nothing could disperse them or alter the formation of that "mirror image." Thus, Chen Rui had decided to leave the Demon Realm and go to the Surface World, now occupied by the Abyss, to deal with the mastermind behind it all—Quiliana.
