The curtains were drawn tight.
The lights were off.
The room was pitch black, save for a faint sliver of moonlight filtering through the gap in the curtains, casting a long, thin shadow across the floor. Everything felt dim and obscured.
"..."
Airi Sakura lay on the bed, her entire body sinking into the soft bedding, curled up slightly.
Her eyes were open.
She wasn't asleep.
Her azure eyes appeared exceptionally bright in the darkness, yet they held a hint of confusion and bewilderment.
Her left hand.
Her left hand was pressed against her chest.
She felt her heartbeat in the silence; her palm was warm, as if some lingering heat still remained there.
It was his scent.
Xu Nuo's hand was so gentle, so warm.
"Haa..."
The young girl let out a soft breath. Her cheeks burned slightly, yet her heart rate showed no signs of slowing down.
Ever since she returned from outside.
She had been lying there like this, her thoughts flowing like a spring.
His hand.
His gentleness.
His perfect profile.
Why...
Why did she care so much?
Airi Sakura bit her lower lip, rolled over in the bedding, and buried her face in the pillow.
It was so strange...
Her body felt so strange...
Her chest was hot, her breathing had become somewhat rapid, and even down there, a strange, unfamiliar sensation was faintly emerging.
What was happening?
"Mmm..."
Airi Sakura let out a soft, confused whimper, and as if possessed, her left hand reached downward.
The moonlight was ghastly pale.
Beside the path stood dense trees, their branches and leaves rustling in the night wind like flickering ghostly shadows.
Several streetlights were broken.
It was exceptionally eerie, with the path ahead barely visible.
It was a dark night with a high wind.
"Hehehe..."
A somewhat chubby figure swayed along the path, emitting a lewd chuckle.
It was the clerk from the digital store.
He had just finished his shift.
At this moment.
The clerk clutched his phone as he walked, the faint glow from the screen illuminating his greasy face.
"Lady Shizuku..."
"It must be her..."
"The hair color is exactly the same..."
The clerk muttered to himself.
His eyes were glued to the photo on his phone screen—a selfie that Lady Shizuku had posted online.
His breathing grew increasingly rapid.
"Should I..."
"Follow her tomorrow?"
Once this thought sprouted, it grew wildly like weeds, almost impossible to suppress.
Right.
Stalking.
As long as he knew where she lived and managed to snap a few secret photos, wouldn't he be able to...
The clerk licked his lips, his gaze growing increasingly fervent.
Suddenly, in that very instant.
From the darkness.
A figure darted out without a sound, moving with such speed that his motions were nearly impossible to track.
"What?!"
The clerk instinctively tried to turn his head, but it was too late.
A hand.
Clamped onto his throat, stifling the exclamation that was about to escape and gradually tightening its grip.
"Urgh... hhh..."
The clerk's eyes widened.
His phone fell to the ground, its screen shattering into pieces.
In the pitch-black night.
He couldn't make out the other person's face at all. Barely catching a glimpse of their eyes, he saw only pitch-black orbs devoid of any warmth, filled with a bottomless, bone-chilling cold.
"Who... are you..."
The clerk squeezed the words out with great difficulty, terror flashing in his eyes as he seemed to want to drop to his knees and beg for mercy.
Unfortunately, he couldn't move.
"..."
Xu Nuo did not answer.
He tilted his head, a slight arc forming at the corner of his mouth.
"Snap!"
A crisp sound of bone fracturing rang out.
The lecherous clerk's right arm twisted at a grotesque angle; his shoulder joint dislocated, and the entire limb instantly lost all sensation, hanging limp and useless.
"Ahhhhhhh--"
A wave of excruciating pain struck.
The clerk opened his mouth to scream, but with his throat held in a death grip, he could only produce a muffled, indistinct sound.
Immediately following.
"Snap."
"Snap."
A few more crisp sounds echoed.
His left arm was dislocated as well, followed by both legs.
With his ligaments torn and his knees shattered, the clerk lost all support and collapsed onto the ground in a heap.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh..."
"I know I was wrong..."
"Spare me..."
He screamed and begged for mercy simultaneously.
The lecherous clerk twitched all over, tears and snot streaming down his face, his complexion as pale as paper. Though he didn't know who his assailant was, he apologized out of pure instinct.
All four limbs.
Completely ruined.
Unfortunately, it wasn't over yet.
Xu Nuo stood tall, looking down coldly at the man sprawled on the ground like a pile of rotting meat.
"Take a deep breath."
"Dizziness is normal."
"I..."
The clerk trembled uncontrollably, at a complete loss, a hair-raising chill creeping over him for no apparent reason.
The next instant.
Aiming for the spot, Xu Nuo raised his foot and kicked down ruthlessly.
The movement was clean and vicious.
"Ah!!"
A heart-wrenching scream erupted.
The clerk curled up like a shrimp, his eyes rolling back as white foam spilled from his mouth, nearly fainting on the spot.
The fifth limb.
Ruined as well.
Xu Nuo slowly clapped his hands, his face devoid of expression, his gaze as calm as if he were looking at trash.
"This is just a warning. Leave this school."
"Otherwise."
"You will die."
Having said that, Xu Nuo turned and left, his figure quickly vanishing into the night, leaving only the clerk slumped on the ground, his body twitching as he let out weak, mournful wails.
Only the bright, clear moon witnessed this display of extreme, violent aesthetics.
Half an hour later, Xu Nuo returned to the Dormitory Building.
His clothes were as neat as before, and there was nothing unusual about his face, as if he had merely gone out for a stroll; he was even carrying a bottle of mineral water in his hand.
Coupled with his use of the Disguise Technique and voice modulation throughout the entire process, a thug and a model student were two identities that, unless Conan came along, no one would ever link together.
Returning to his room, he closed the door.
Xu Nuo hummed a little tune, his mood quite good, as he raised his well-defined, bony hand to examine it.
Very good.
He hadn't grown rusty yet.
Xu Nuo had previously claimed a few combat-related abilities, but only for a short few weeks.
After all, in this day and age, money and power were enough to solve all troubles, and Xu Nuo's focus had previously been on those two things.
However, in a school where strength reigned supreme, force was indeed an indispensable link.
For now, it was barely enough.
At the very least, when paired with the body he occasionally trained, crushing a sleazy otaku was a piece of cake—it was effortless.
"Tsk."
Thinking of that guy, Xu Nuo clicked his tongue, his mood souring once more; he was never a saintly person to begin with.
Moreover, he had come to this school to find his wife, yet this sleazy man had actually dared to covet his woman, and in the original story, he had even taken action.
Truly, killing him a thousand times wouldn't be enough!
His eyes turning cold, Xu Nuo sat down at his desk, opened his laptop, and tapped the keyboard rapidly.
He opened the Dark Web.
He spent ten million yen to post a bounty for a "river burial."
"One seat in Tokyo Bay."
After everything was done, Xu Nuo stood up and lazily stretched his body, finally having vented his anger.
As for the warning he gave earlier about letting him go?
What was he thinking?
He was only worried about scaring those budding flowers on campus.
