Jia Yi and Lu Gang exchanged their contact numbers with Xue Xi. "Store Manager, we'll be heading back now. If you run into any trouble, feel free to reach out to us. Just focus on running your shop."
"Oh, okay!" Xue Xi nodded obediently. After seeing them off, she tidied up the slightly messy restaurant and prepared to head to the warehouse to restock some of the depleted ingredients.
Opening the heavy iron door secured by chains, Xue Xi had just stepped inside when she saw Little Wolf in the dim light, grinding his teeth and preparing to wreak havoc on her food reserves. Her eyes widened, and she shouted angrily, "You little beast, stop right there!"
Little Wolf's three-meter-tall frame trembled visibly. He whimpered pitifully, turned around, and lay down before Xue Xi, innocently spreading his wolf paws. In them, a large rat about 20 centimeters long lay peacefully asleep.
Xue Xi was stunned, realizing she had wronged Little Wolf. Being the type to admit her mistakes, she coaxed him, scratching and smoothing the fur under his averted head. "Hehe, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I thought you were like a Husky, ready to tear the house apart. I didn't expect Little Wolf to be so capable, even knowing how to guard the warehouse for me. Come on, I'll make you a big bowl of something delicious!"
As a high-level Beast General, the Silver Moon Fierce Wolf had remarkable recovery abilities. With Xue Xi's disinfection and medication, Little Wolf's external wounds had mostly healed, though the mouth that had been swollen from Xue Xi's slap was still recovering.
Hearing there was good food, Little Wolf's beast eyes widened. He immediately stood up on all fours with a spring, grabbed Xue Xi's collar with his jaws, and tossed her onto his back before sprinting out of the warehouse where he had been cooped up all day.
Xue Xi sat on the soft, silvery-white fur of Little Wolf's back. Afraid of falling off, she gripped two tufts of fur on his neck tightly. The scenery on both sides blurred as it rushed backward. The novel riding experience made Xue Xi scream out loud, though a mouthful of wind rushed into her throat, making it impossible to hear what she was actually saying.
Soon, Xue Xi realized that Treasure Wolf 6S was getting further and further away from her restaurant. She hurriedly shouted into Little Wolf's ear, "Wrong direction! The good food is over there!"
With a sharp screech of a stop, Little Wolf immediately turned his head and ran back in the direction Xue Xi pointed. Xue Xi was bounced up and down on the wolf's back, thinking that her luxury ride really needed a satellite GPS; otherwise, it wouldn't be fun if she got lost in the Wilderness Zone later.
Little Wolf was fast. In a few seconds, he stopped playfully at the restaurant entrance, shaking his head and tail, his two front paws tapping up and down. Xue Xi chuckled and patted him lightly. "Alright, put me down. You've been cooped up all day healing, I get it. I'm going to cook. If there aren't many people this afternoon, I'll close up early, and I'll take you—no, you can take me—out for a ride."
Little Wolf obediently lay down. Xue Xi carefully slid off. Since the restaurant door was too small for Little Wolf to enter, she told him to wait outside and that she would be right back.
Xue Xi went to the kitchen, pondering what she could use as a bowl for Little Wolf's massive size. Remembering the bathtub she had thrown out while cleaning the second floor yesterday, she huffed and puffed as she ran to the roof and hauled the two-meter-long white porcelain tub back down.
After scrubbing it several times, disinfecting and cleaning it, she dragged the tub to the kitchen entrance. Comparing it to Little Wolf's three-meter-tall, eight-meter-long frame, she figured this should be enough to feed him.
She boiled pot after pot of Cat Ear Noodles, drenched them in a full tub of gravy, and then used her anchor point layout ability to move the massive tub of braised Cat Ear Noodles out of the restaurant.
Stepping outside, she found that Little Wolf had disappeared again. Activating her thousand-meter god-view, she saw him sprinting along the thousand-meter monster perimeter, his tongue lolling out and his drool splattering onto the monsters outside.
Xue Xi was speechless. Why was a Silver Moon Fierce Wolf, nearly at the Lord Rank, showing off in front of a group of mostly Beast Soldier Rank monsters, with the occasional Beast General mixed in?
She placed her thumb and index finger in a ring against her lips, took a breath, and let out a sharp, piercing whistle.
Little Wolf heard it, glanced over, and saw Xue Xi standing by her "food tub." No longer lingering, he turned around and pushed off with his hind legs, racing toward the restaurant and leaving an Iron-Skin Pig outside, covered in mud and too terrified to even growl.
Xue Xi wondered if Little Wolf's speed would increase after eating, though she doubted a wolf could learn movement techniques.
Little Wolf, panting with his tongue out, arrived in front of Xue Xi, his eyes locked firmly on the steaming food tub beside her. Xue Xi knew he had probably been starving for days, so she didn't stop him. "Alright, stop staring. If you keep looking like that, your eyeballs are going to fall into the food. Go ahead and eat, and remember to really savor it."
Little Wolf didn't understand anything about "savoring." He had spent his whole life fighting, and today he finally got a good meal. He buried his snout into the tub and began to eat with single-minded focus, his long silver tail wagging up and down, showing just how happy its owner was.
