She opened the massive iron door wrapped in chains. As soon as she stepped inside, she saw Little Wolf in the dim light, baring its teeth as it prepared to ravage her food supplies. Her eyes widened, and she shouted, "You beast, stop right there!"
Little Wolf's three-meter-tall body visibly trembled. It let out a wounded whimper, turned around, and lay down in front of Xue Xi. It even spread its paws innocently, revealing a large rat, about twenty centimeters long, lying peacefully in them.
Xue Xi was surprised, realizing she had wronged Little Wolf. Since she'd made a mistake, she owned up to it. She ingratiatingly scratched and smoothed the fur beneath Little Wolf's averted head. "Hehe, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I thought you were about to tear the place apart like Husky, but I didn't realize you were so capable, guarding my storeroom for me! Come on, I'll make you a huge bowl of something delicious!"
As an Advanced Beast General, the Silver Moon Fierce Wolf had impressive recovery abilities. Combined with Xue Xi disinfecting and treating Little Wolf's wounds, its external injuries had mostly healed. The only thing still bothering it was its swollen mouth, which Xue Xi had slapped.
At the mention of something delicious, Little Wolf's eyes lit up. It sprang to its feet, grabbed Xue Xi by the collar with its teeth, and tossed her onto its back before bounding out of the storeroom where it had been cooped up all day.
Xue Xi sat on Little Wolf's smooth, silvery-white fur, gripping two tufts of its neck fur tightly for fear of falling off. The scenery on either side rushed past. The novel riding experience made her cry out, but a fierce gust of wind blew into her mouth, making it impossible to tell what she was saying.
Before long, Xue Xi realized that Treasure Wolf 6S was carrying her farther and farther from the restaurant. She hurriedly yelled in Little Wolf's ear, "You're going the wrong way! The food's over there!"
Little Wolf screeched to a halt, immediately turned around, and raced back in the direction Xue Xi had pointed. As she bounced up and down on its back, Xue Xi thought that her luxury car clearly needed satellite GPS. Otherwise, getting lost in the Wilderness Zone one day wouldn't be any fun.
Little Wolf was fast. In just a few seconds, it came to a playful stop in front of the restaurant, tossing its head as its forepaws bounced up and down. Xue Xi chuckled and gave it a light pat. "All right, put me down. You were cooped up all day recovering—no wonder you're so restless. I'll go cook. If it's quiet this afternoon, we'll close early, and I'll take you—or, rather, you can take me—for a ride outside."
Little Wolf obediently lowered itself to the ground, and Xue Xi carefully slid off its back. The restaurant doorway was too small for Little Wolf to get through, so Xue Xi told it to wait outside while she went in to get things ready.
In the kitchen, Xue Xi pondered what she could use as a bowl for Little Wolf's enormous size. Then she remembered the bathtub she had thrown out while cleaning the second floor yesterday. With a great deal of effort, she lugged the two-meter-long white porcelain tub down from the rooftop.
After scrubbing it several times and disinfecting it thoroughly, she dragged the tub to the kitchen entrance. Comparing it with Little Wolf's three-meter height and eight-meter length when standing, she thought, This should be enough to fill him up, right?
So she boiled pot after pot of Cat Ear Noodles until they were all cooked, then poured a whole tub of braising sauce over them. Only then did she use her anchor point's layout ability to move the enormous tub of braised Cat Ear Noodles out of the restaurant.
When she stepped outside, she found that Little Wolf had disappeared again. She activated her thousand-meter overhead view and spotted him racing around the thousand-meter beast enclosure, his tongue lolling beside his face and drool spraying onto the monsters outside.
Xue Xi was utterly speechless. You're a Silver Moon Fierce Wolf on the verge of Lord Rank, so why are you showing off in front of a bunch of monsters that are mostly Beast Soldier Rank, with only a few Beast Generals among them?
She made a circle with her thumb and index finger, placed them against her lips, took a breath, and let out a piercing whistle.
Little Wolf heard her and glanced over. When he saw Xue Xi and the "food trough" beside her, he stopped fooling around, turned, and pushed off with his hind legs, racing toward the restaurant. Outside the enclosure, the Iron-Skin Pig could only watch him go, its face caked in mud, unable to express its anger.
Xue Xi wondered whether Little Wolf would get even faster after eating. But wolves probably didn't practice movement techniques, did they?
Little Wolf came over panting, its tongue hanging out, but its eyes were fixed on the steaming food trough beside Xue Xi. She knew he had probably been hungry for days, so she didn't stop him. "All right, quit staring. Your eyeballs are practically floating in the food. Go eat, and remember to really take it in."
Little Wolf didn't understand a thing about taking it in. After a lifetime of fighting, he finally got to enjoy a decent meal, so he buried his muzzle in the food trough and set to work eating with complete concentration. His long silver tail bobbed up and down, showing just how delighted he was.
