Background

Meng Hailong was once Kunlun Mountain's proud senior direct disciple. White-Browed Elder personally brought him into the sect, where he became the sect leader's prized student and was considered a prospective successor to Kunlun's leadership. His talent was regarded as comparable to Kunlun's Founder, and he mastered the Demon Extermination Blade Technique and its intent. 90 116

Ten years before his appearance in Dragon Spring City, Meng betrayed Kunlun and joined the Qingqiu Fox Clan. He was already a Spirit Refining expert at the time. His defection caused irreversible harm to Kunlun, nearly resulted in his master's death, and left Elder Huang with a lingering blade-intent scar in his Sea of Consciousness. 79 114 116

Meng Hailong is calculating, ambitious, and profoundly ruthless. He treats allies, enemies, and subordinates as resources, demanding loyalty while making clear that he will kill anyone who fails to satisfy him. After seizing control of the demon faction's plans, he increases his demanded share of Dragon Roar Martial Hall's Incense Power from sixty to eighty percent and threatens to slaughter everyone involved if they object. 114

He is also sadistic and unstable when thwarted. During the assault on Dragon Roar Martial Hall, he breaks promises, tortures disciples to coerce Long Wuhui, and declares his intention to massacre both the Martial Hall and Dragon Spring City.
