Synopsis: Several thousand years ago, strange creatures appeared in the world, disrupting its balance and wantonly slaughtering humans. They resembled monsters from legend, but were not actually such creatures, so people called them Mlortha, along with the Seven-HBrutes who led them. Because the Mlortha were cruel to humans and disrupted the world's balance, the will of the world, Gaia and Alaya, created two sets of armor specifically to fight them: Divine, who wielded Gaia's power, and Spirit, who wielded Alaya's power. They gave the armor to two human warriors selected through trials. At last, the warriors donned the armor and fought their way to the Mlortha's stronghold, where they battled the Seven-HBrutes. Divine used his last reserves of power to seal away the Seven-HBrutes and the Mlortha, then vanished without a trace. Spirit, meanwhile, was gravely wounded, fell into a coma, and eventually died. The people later built a shrine at the place where Divine had sealed the Seven-HBrutes and the Mlortha, to honor the two warriors and record what happened as a warning to future generations. As for the two suits of armor, Divine used his own body as the seal, making his armor impossible to touch or remove, while Spirit's armor was entrusted to the descendants of the warrior who had worn it.

As usual, after Senba Gari accompanied Honoka Kosaka and the others during training, they parted ways at an intersection near Otonokizaka and headed home. Everything seemed remarkably peaceful.
Inside the park, the fiery red light of the setting sun spilled across the ground, making it look a vivid crimson.
Crimson blood ran across the ground. A red-haired girl lay in it, her eyes now utterly lifeless. Blood kept seeping from the hole in her left chest, soaking through her clothes, while her scattered short red hair was stained with the blood on the ground.
Beneath the setting sun, the girl looked like a withered rose, desolate and achingly beautiful.
"...Geki, tell me who did this... Who did it!"
Around seven that evening, amid the crowd of onlookers, Senba Gari stared at the scene before him in disbelief. His voice trembled slightly, for he could barely contain the fury inside him.
Behind him stood Honoka Kosaka, Minami Kotori, Umi Sonoda, Eli Ayase, Nozomi Tojo, Yazawa Nico, Hanayo Koizumi, and Rin Hoshizora. They were all overwhelmed with grief and anger, tears in their eyes.
From that day on, they had lost a dear friend.
"You little punk! Tell me! Who did this? Who was it?!!!" Mari Nishikino grabbed Senba Gari by the collar and roared.
