Profile: Author's Note on Going Premium
It's time for another announcement about going premium (and losing subscribers). What can I say? I'm pretty proud of myself, and happy about it. My longtime readers know I'm an amateur webnovel writer who writes for fun, not money, votes, or recommendations. I have a job, a family, and other hobbies, so you could even say I'm not really a writer at all—just someone who likes to write!
So why go premium? Same as always: to make myself keep updating. Having people read my work and share in the joy I get from writing means far more than I ever expected. After all, I've always written for my own amusement. But writing just for fun makes it easy to fall into the trap of working hard for three days, then slacking off for two. People can always find excuses. Never mind writing 3,000 characters every day; I can't even promise I'll manage 3,000 in a whole week. The creative struggles of Lü Ye, the notorious victim of Webnovel, are actually pretty common.
Talent? Doesn't exist. That's why it matters to force yourself out of your comfort zone and keep writing, even after failing again and again. Going premium is how I show my readers that I'm taking responsibility. Nobody likes getting only half a story. Even if just one person reads my niche little work, I should see it through to the end. A massive update? Not happening. I just want to give myself a reason to keep updating. Simple and straightforward.
If you find it interesting, you can give it a try. If you think it's total nonsense, you can leave. That's all there is to it. Writing makes me happy. If you've shared in that happiness, then I've done more than I ever set out to do.
Minya's story has now gone beyond Kinugasa Shogo's worldline (laughs), so it'll definitely be challenging to write. But I'll do my best to fill out my version of Classroom of the Elite—or rather, Minya's version of it, haha! At the very least, I'll write until Minya graduates in his third year. We'll see what happens after that.
