Explanation: Regarding my personal opinion on Volume 16 of the original work (Warning: serious spoilers for those who haven't read it). Since this matter is being discussed so heatedly in the small circles of Classroom of the Elite, I'll join in and express my own humble opinion! To get straight to the point, I think Airi's expulsion is reasonable. Don't rush to flame me; let me analyze it in detail. First of all, this is a plot-driven kill by Kinugasa Shogo, no doubt about it. The groundwork for Chabashira's dark history and Kushida's "redemption" was laid earlier, so it would be strange if it didn't happen. But as an author myself, I can empathize with his desire to write about what he truly feels inside. He really wants to write a book about "ability," not about "youth," "friendship," "love," or even "harem." This is related to his early experiences and his current status of "not making light novels his primary profession." I can tell you clearly that Kinugasa Shogo definitely writes whatever he wants, although whether he writes it well is another matter. You guys can't handle one Airi now, but there might be bigger surprises in the future, including but not limited to the expulsion of major characters like Ichinose. That's right, Airi is just a supporting character. Ichinose is the protagonist with a "danger" sign drawn over her head. I'll make a prediction for now and welcome being proven wrong. I'm not being alarmist, because this is not a harem-trope light novel. Because for the author, it's a pity not to destroy beautiful things! Especially Japanese writers, whose bottom line is extremely low (I'll praise myself here for not letting Airi be expelled), see the miserable Eriri and Kasumigaoka Utaha next door. Well, back to the point, it's not yet time to discuss whose head the next knife will fly toward. Why is Airi's expulsion reasonable? Let's first understand a concept: ability.
