Background

Before joining the Blood Cup Cult, Saliba worked as a cook and breeder at Fermier Monastery, where he was already known for an extraordinary appetite. His contact with the unsealed error that produced the [Beelzebub] mark led him to defect from the Monastery of the Fifth Cup. 24

As a Blood Cup Cult high priest, Saliba accumulated a long record of atrocities, including the Fermier Massacre, the City of Disease incident, and several border riots. By the time of the Birmingham crisis, he was the cult's only surviving high priest and ranked among the Prevention and Suppression Bureau's top hundred designated threats. 24

Appearance

Saliba can operate through a temporary human shell, but his body changes drastically as his ritual advances.

Storm Burnt Offering

At Sacred Heart Hospital, Saliba initiates the Storm Burnt Offering, using Frank Mills and the Restless Blood to abandon the path of Blood for the path of Heart. He subdues Horn and confronts Veronica, convinced that her arrival is too late to stop him. 25 26

Battle for the Blood Field

Veronica splits Saliba's Blood Field with the Realm of Separation, limiting the plague's influence over Birmingham. Saliba responds by transforming, merging Heart and Blood, and invoking storms while advancing toward a form of longevity. 27 28

Downfall

Horn seizes the Blood Pool and interrupts Saliba's divinity supply, allowing Veronica to pierce and immobilize him. Horn's newly awakened [Blood Scorcher] then devours Saliba's spirituality, forcing the high priest to abandon his ascension and flee. 30 31

Saliba's attempt to escape with Rising Harmony fails when Veronica manifests her Immortal form and declares that the gate will never open for him. Still bound by Horn's black flames, Saliba is swallowed by the Styx along with his plague, blood, ambition, and suffering. 32
