Winter had set in deep.
Deep in the Far North Plains of the Douluo Continent, a long night quietly descended.
During the polar night, endless storms swept across the entire frozen world. It was as if the apocalypse had arrived; the sun had not been seen for over a month.
This was a forbidden zone for life.
No human could live here for long. Apart from the powerful Ferocious Beasts concealed within the storms, there was no sign of life.
During the storms, even the aurora struggled to pierce the dense clouds.
No one would be willing to enter this place during such a time. No one would wager their life on it.
Far North Core Hinterland.
No human footprints had appeared here for who knew how many years.
Everywhere the eye could see, there were ancient glaciers, like colossal beasts lying in wait in the darkness, ready to strike.
There was nothing here beyond the ice. The mountains and rivers that had once existed were long buried beneath it.
Even snowflakes struggled to endure in such extreme cold, quickly melting into the glaciers.
And yet, amid this harsh landscape, a figure stood silently among the Ice Crystal Mountains, as unmoving as a statue.
Through the haze, she seemed to be a young girl in the bloom of youth.
Snow covered her like the most beautiful white gown. Her long, ice-blue hair flowed down her back, and her slender, pale legs were like the softest jade. Her deep-blue eyes were clear and profound, as if they could see through the ages and gaze upon the beauty of the past.
At that moment, she seemed to have become one with the ancient glaciers.
Time passed, and no one knew how long it had been.
Perhaps a day, perhaps a month, perhaps a year...
In this world shrouded by storms, time seemed to have lost all meaning.
"The time has come."
At the girl's words, cool yet tinged with excitement, she finally moved.
As she raised her head, a cyan-gold orb of light slowly rose from her jade-white hand.
A powerful surge of Soul Power erupted from her petite body and poured into the orb.
Her hands moved through one gesture after another, as if she were performing a mysterious ritual, or communicating with some unknown being.
Once the energy had filled it, the cyan-gold orb suddenly burst apart, transforming into an endless stream of divine energy that scattered across the boundless night sky.
At some point, the girl had fallen to her knees, her body prostrated humbly upon the ice.
At the same time, a dazzling pillar of light shot into the heavens.
It seemed to rise from the depths of the earth, shattering the ancient ice, dispersing the endless clouds, and breaking through time and space sealed away for ages.
In the radiance, an ancient Cyan-Gold Castle emerged from beneath the ice.
It seemed that only a corner of the castle had been revealed. It did not look magnificent, yet it inspired reverence and devotion in anyone who saw it.
If anyone could have witnessed it, two words would surely have risen in their hearts as one: a divine miracle!
At that moment, strange cyan-gold energy drifted across the sky above the Far North.
At the center of the gathering energy, a dazzling meteor streaked across the night sky. It circled the pillar of light and slowly descended onto the smooth ice in front of the castle.
"Waaah! Waaah!"
The "meteor" cried like a baby, as if announcing the birth of a king.
It was, in fact, a naked baby boy.
The girl who had been kneeling rose to her feet and hurriedly scooped up the baby before her, holding him close. She could no longer hide the excitement in her eyes.
"The calamity that will befall the continent is near... The Demon Star will throw time and space into chaos... At my master's command, Snow Maiden has waited for hundreds of thousands of years. Today, she welcomes the Divine Infant into the world."
"Everything from now on will depend on you..." the girl murmured to herself.
At that moment, the entire continent was bathed in the dazzling holy radiance, as bright as day.
Deep in the core of the Star Dou Forest, in a secret realm at the bottom of the Lake of Life.
A silver figure suddenly raised its enormous head. A faint mist clouded its dreamy, pale-violet eyes.
Elsewhere on the continent.
Countless old monsters hidden in the shadows raised their heads toward the north in unison, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
They sensed a power capable of making them vanish from time and space with ease.
That power left them utterly incapable of resisting.
Across the continent, even many ordinary people without Soul Power sensed the strange phenomenon.
In the middle of the night, at midnight, the sky shone as bright as day.
Later, people would call this day the Day of Divine Revelation...
The edge of the Far North.
A Golden-Haired Elder quietly watched the celestial spectacle in the distance. Beside him stood a dainty girl of four or five, as lovely as a doll, her hand in his.
"Xiao Xue, do you see that holy light? That is the faith you must spend your life protecting..."
The elder spoke words that were difficult to understand.
The little girl beside him nodded, though she only seemed to grasp them vaguely.
Six years later, in the Extreme North Core.
The sun hung low on the distant horizon, illuminating the boundless ice until it shone clear and bright, like a dreamlike Ice and Snow Secret Realm.
Sunlight refracted through the snow and ice in a dazzling array of colors, stinging the eyes slightly.
Yet in this vast, endless frozen world, it was a rare moment of calm.
On the ice field, so vast that the eye could not take it all in, stood an unremarkable little ice house.
It was a small place, but quite charming. A low lean-to made of ice blocks stood outside the door, and at noon, a thin plume of smoke rose from its vent.
It was hard to imagine that anyone could live here, in a life-forbidden zone where even Spirit Hall wouldn't venture to hunt Spirit Beasts.
A short figure hurried back and forth between the ice house and the kitchen outside, looking somewhat anxious.
It was a young boy, about five or six years old. His short black hair stood out against the surroundings; though messy, it wasn't greasy.
The boy wore a white cloak made of Spirit Beast fur. It hung over his small frame, far too large for him.
His handsome face was still very childish, but his bright black eyes held a steadiness beyond his years.
His name was Mu Qian, an insignificant speck among the countless transmigrators.
In his previous life, while watching an anime, some irresistible force had brought him to this world.
A world full of endless possibilities, at least for him.
"Bingbing, that's not how you do it. Put it down and let me handle it!" Looking at the scene before him, Mu Qian felt like crying.
Inside the kitchen, a little dog with fiery red fur was miserably spitting flames. A huge stone pot was balanced on its head, with large ribs from some unknown Spirit Beast laid across it.
But the ribs had already been fried black on one side, and a faint burnt smell hung in the air.
Mu Qian glanced at the obviously undercooked other side, sighed, and tossed the ribs to the little puppy beside him, who had been working hard to provide fuel.
There went lunch. He could only make another batch.
"Sorry, little master. I didn't mean to~"
A girl in a blue-green dress was also standing in the kitchen...
