Arc 9The Siege and the Crown

As the monsters overwhelmed Castel’s defenses, the Empress was assassinated and Beatrice became Pope, leaving Theus trapped in a powerless vessel beneath the sea.

  • Alexei led the Faithguard Army to defeat waves of Fishmen and arm monsters, while Theus introduced the Banshees to the dangerous steam rifles and prepared an armored train and Gatling gun.
  • Theus tested the Gatling gun with Nini and Chloe, killing more than fifty arm monsters and showing Alexei that ordinary soldiers could fight Transcendent monsters.
  • Ken, Jeremiah, and Josh met the Prince, who promised aid for Nora and the refugees, while Jeremiah’s account of a man transforming into a monster deepened their concern about the sea.
  • Ken and Jeremiah opened a seawater-proof crate and found a young boy’s corpse, while Chloe revealed that the polluted vessel meant for an evil god’s descent had disappeared from the Cocoon.
  • Theus possessed Worker Theus aboard the Black Pearl and recognized the ship, but Jeremiah later saw the corpse rise and fall into the sea as the waters began to recede.
  • The Prince assassinated the Empress, and Beatrice escaped the palace before the Holy Army crowned her Pope.
  • Fishmen and sea urchin monsters overran Castel’s coastal defenses, forcing Ash and the Banshee groups to withdraw toward the cathedral while the mines and mining district fell.

Theus and Castel prepared for the sea’s rising waters and a gathering monster assault while Chloe investigated Gem Bay and Theus’s Mind Link connected him with people beyond the island. • Theus discovered he could connect separate threads, letting Ken and Jeremiah speak mind to mind, and Chloe’s airship later helped repel an arm-monster attack with a bomb.
  • Theus accidentally connected Gwen to Ken and Jeremiah, and their advice helped her survive by eating wild grass until Beatrice and Scepter could help her through the Link.
  • Beatrice found sealed records describing the ancient Pollution in the Sea, and Theus learned that seawater was entering Castel through the Storm Eye’s Bottomless Sea Abyss.

Arc 11The Sea God’s Furnace

Theus and the people of Castel survived the flooding by turning Monica’s Sea God power against the Pirate King’s Court, then captured the Pirate King’s pollution-tainted body to fuel a new furnace. The body was lowered into Castel’s Central Furnace as Monica sensed it yearning for the Sea God’s flesh and blood.

  • Chloe and Moth Chasing Flame summoned an evil god and crashed their airship into the palace at the Pirate King’s Court, while Fishmen and Sea Urchin Monsters overwhelmed Castel’s defenses.
  • Theus learned that Monica had become the Sea God’s remaining soul, and she joined him in returning to the Storm Eye, where they found Nini and surviving Banshees.
  • Theus had Monica send the seawater back toward the Storm Eye, saving Castel, then launched an airship bombing against the Pirate King, who remained unharmed.
  • Theus and Moth Chasing Flame built the Sky Veil Behemoth Class airship and planned a giant furnace, while Gaia challenged Nini to account for the Banshees’ safety in her lifting plan.
  • After Castel built its central furnace, Nini and Gaia used explosives to separate the Pirate King’s monster from the Court, and Pollution Serpents held the body aloft for the airship.
  • Theus placed Chloe’s diary and portrait atop the furnace as Monica, Nini, and Gaia performed the Steel Prayer ritual, but the furnace flared briefly and went dark.
  • Theus arranged for the Pirate King’s monster to be lowered into the furnace, briefly contacted Scepter and learned about the war in the Empire, then returned to Castel.
  • With Zoe confirming that residents had been evacuated, Nini and the securing teams guided the monster into the Central Furnace, where Monica sensed it yearning for the Sea God’s flesh and blood.
