Arc 21The Northern Territory Rescue

Isaac and the Expeditionary Force helped Gwen lead the Resistance Army out of the Northern Territory and brought its survivors to Blood Port, while the campaign against Bazel remained unfinished. Back in Castel, Theus helped Nora regain control of her body, and Grisha began preparing wounded refugees for relocation.

  • Theus kept his suspicions about the prince’s identity secret while the Mystic Society investigated, and Granny and Isaac reached the Northern Territory to warn Gwen about the gathering Transcendents.
  • Isaac and Gwen led the Resistance Army out of Slading Fortress, fought Imperial troops and Dragonfang’s forces, and were nearly overwhelmed before Nora and the Expeditionary Force arrived.

  • Grisha and the wounded Resistance Army arrived in Blood Port, where Grisha shared food with his companions and declared, “This is Castel.”
  • Nora agreed to rejoin her head and body, and Theus’s blood created a bond that let her briefly control her body before the connection failed.

Arc 22The White Calamity

The Expeditionary Force fled the White Calamity as its animated bones pursued them, while Theus and the Northern Territory prepared a fortress defense. Theus reached Gwen through the Mind Link as she fought the swarm, and learned she was close to weakening Bazel’s will enough to control him.

  • Grisha left a letter for Gwen and went toward Blood Port, while Gwen and Hodge searched for Count Bazel and then evacuated camp after finding a warning.
  • The White Calamity swallowed the camp and pursued the Expeditionary Force with bone hordes that revived in the mist, forcing the soldiers to fight while marching toward a train.
  • Hodge’s force boarded the train, but the bones and fog surrounded it until Castel’s airships arrived to evacuate the soldiers, and Gwen saw a white-haired girl destroy a gigantic skeleton.
  • Grisha met Hunter and agreed to help him reach the front lines, while Zoe and Gaia separately told Theus that they had gained Transcendent abilities without rituals.
  • Hunter, Grisha, and Nora encountered Ignati and the Silent Temple delegation, then took them toward the Resistance Army’s camp.
  • Theus arrived at the fortress with the Banshees and prepared its defenses with Alexei as the White Calamity approached.
  • Theus used [Return] to enter the White Calamity and connect with Gwen, while the soldiers fought the advancing bones and mist at the fortress.
  • Ash ordered the army to hold the fortress, and Theus directed them to keep firing as little Gwen told him she was close to weakening Bazel’s will enough to take control.

Arc 23The White Calamity and Bazel

The Expeditionary Force drove back the White Calamity, while Theus and Alexei began shaping the Northern Territory and Duke Alvaray chose to seek a future in Castel. • Theus ordered the Expeditionary Force to hold the Northern Territory fortress, and Ash led the soldiers against the White Bones until the mist withdrew.
  • Ignati revealed that the Silent Temple had caused the White Calamity and that its Buriers intended to die destroying it, then led them into the fog.
  • The White Calamity returned the injured Buriers, and Theus arranged for their treatment while directing Alexei to develop the Northern Territory through schools, factories, and military production.
  • Hunter escorted Duke Alvaray through Blood Port, where Alvaray saw its industry and prosperity, then encouraged him to seek work in Castel after the Tribunal confiscated most of his lands.
  • Theus returned to the Northern Territory and found that the mist had transformed Bazel into a skeletal giant, then ordered him taken to Blood Port for trial.

  • Gwen received a letter from Theus and learned that the Silent Temple priests still had not awakened.
