Chloe and Nora turned to look at the same time. It was a soldier, just an ordinary man.
The soldier's face was full of excitement. He first stood at attention and gave a salute. The trench was barely wide enough for two people to squeeze through, making the gesture difficult and somewhat misshapen.
"Lady Nora! I-I'm Lance Corporal Raymond. I-I just saw a self-propelled artillery vehicle on the eastern side!
You must be looking for them!"
Chloe and Nora exchanged a glance, both somewhat delighted.

Nora was practically known by everyone on the front lines. This girl who could still charge across the battlefield with only her head left had become the very image of a valkyrie.
The battlefield was far from level. Dense trenches and bunkers carved it into countless fragmented sections. Things were better inside a self-propelled artillery vehicle. Though its armor was not particularly thick, it could stop small arms fire, allowing them to observe their surroundings without worry. Hiding in the trenches, however, left their field of view severely limited.
The two of them had gotten somewhat lost. Chloe had even been about to use her Transcendence ability to search for them.
It did not take long for them to reach the self-propelled artillery vehicle the soldier had mentioned. Chloe saw at a glance that it had lost power as well. Both tracks had been warped, but the crew compartment was still relatively intact.
Chloe pried open the crew compartment with an iron bar. Inside was a [Burier], already unconscious.
"Atticus? She's one of my team members, from the assault group too." Nora recognized her comrade.
As long as a [Burier]'s body was intact, there was not much to worry about. Forget unconsciousness—even if they had been dead for a while, they could still
