To resist the long-standing ravages of the Labyrinth and the Abyss, the Holy Light Church had successively established two special groups endowed with extraordinary power.
The first of these groups to emerge was known as the Holy Light Knights.
They were an order of knights with powerful physiques, capable of sensing the call of the Holy Light and fighting the Abyss's minions through its power.
Auling Power, Abyssal power, and the power of Holy Light were the three great power systems that existed in this world.
If Auling Power's defining trait was its manifestation into diverse effects according to each person's spiritual essence, while Abyssal power could be summed up as tenacious regeneration, propagation, and mental corrosion, then the power of Holy Light could be encompassed by three qualities: pure defensive enhancement, offensive enhancement, and enhancement through faith.
Once any knight formed a connection of faith with the Holy God and thereby gained the power of Holy Light, not only would their physical strength undergo a qualitative leap akin to that of a Nightmare Sensor, they could also learn Holy Light arts that combined attack and defense. For example, they could use the power of Holy Light to create a close-fitting defensive barrier around themselves, or empower their weapons with Holy Light to increase their lethality. In some respects, it bore a certain resemblance to Ye Chen's Auling arts.
In short, the Holy Light Knights' fighting style pursued one word: "hard." Whether attacking or defending, they carried through the principle of being "unyieldingly hard and fiercely powerful."
Furthermore, Abyssal power inflicted corrosion and attacks upon the spiritual level of all enemies, whereas the power of Holy Light strengthened its wielder according to the strength of their convictions.
The more courageous, devout, and noble a Holy Light Knight was, the more
