Fly into the Sky!

The Grilled Octopus Legs were ready.

Kangqiao took a bite, then began handing them out.

The largest leg was given to Water Lizard and Giant Moth.

Most of another leg went to Giant Serpent, while the smaller portion was given to the newly joined Trilobite.

As for Kangqiao himself, he ate only the smallest piece.

It was merely an indulgence of the palate. Kangqiao was not so weak that he could not resist temptation.

This was the time to show his generosity and the bearing of a leader. How could he be stingy?

All right, establishing status through meat might sound absurd, but in this world where the Giant Beasts had only just been enlightened, it worked quite well.

Nothing was more valuable than food—at least, that was how most Giant Beasts saw it.

Kangqiao watched the other four beasts with a smile after eating the smallest portion.

Giant Serpent, at least, had some tact.

Although Giant Serpent had also been conquered by the delicious octopus leg, it still looked at Kangqiao through its pain, raised its head, and held the remaining half of the leg out to him in its jaws.

Though Giant Serpent was full of petty schemes, it was clever enough to know how to flatter others. That was interesting. At the very least, it made Kangqiao happy.

So Kangqiao accepted Giant Serpent's flattery. After taking the small section of octopus leg, he merely tore off a tiny piece with his hand, swallowed it, and gave Giant Serpent a "smile" before returning the rest to it.

Giant Serpent was overjoyed to see this!

The moment it offered up the octopus leg, Giant Serpent had suddenly regretted it. But Kangqiao returned most of it, naturally leaving Giant Serpent delighted.

Even it did not realize that after this single exchange, its fawning "loyalty" had quietly increased considerably.

Giant Serpent eagerly took back the recovered octopus leg and gulped it down in one bite, as though afraid something else might happen if it waited.

Watching it act like that, Kangqiao was utterly speechless.

Meanwhile, Water Lizard and Giant Moth both saw what Giant Serpent had done, and an inexplicable hesitation appeared in their eyes.

Soon, Kangqiao saw Water Lizard and Giant Moth look toward him, reluctantly imitating Giant Serpent.

Kangqiao could not help laughing at the sight.

He did not accept their offerings and simply waved for them to eat it themselves.

The two had no ulterior motives, and they happily swallowed the rest as well.

At that moment, Kangqiao's leading position was displayed to the fullest.

And Giant Serpent deserved credit for setting this example.

Only the newly joined Trilobite seemed somewhat out of place.

But ultimately, it was because Trilobite had been completely conquered by the Grilled Octopus Legs.

This was also why Giant Serpent had refused to fight Giant Moth earlier.

As for Giant Moth, it was afraid that if it dropped the lava giant, Kangqiao might become enraged and chase after it to beat it up.

Although it could fly, damaging their relationship would not be good either.

Still, Kangqiao eventually went into the sky.

When Giant Moth spread its wings and took flight, using its eight legs and the dense, hairlike bristles on them—like iron worms—to tightly grip most of the rocky skin on Kangqiao's back, Kangqiao became like a monster with enormous wings, soaring straight into the heavens.
