Background / History

Sun Nian is a Jingan Bureau officer from Nanning Prefecture, Guixi Province. He accepts Yang Ning as a disciple after recognizing his kindness, potential, and determination to protect his family. By doing so, he also brings Yang into the Jingan Bureau. 28

At their first meeting, Sun personally guides Yang Ning across the Tendon Changing threshold, using his own qi to regulate Yang's blood and qi circulation until Yang manifests Tiger Demon Force. He regards both Yang and Gong Tian as exceptional disciples with distinct temperaments and high potential. 29

Before taking office in Kuishan, Sun had previously helped the Rain Sword Sect through a crisis, creating the foundation for the sect's later alignment with him.
