"Yes, they did reach out to Shelly."

She gently set down her glass. Her gaze swept over her family and friends, chatting merrily around the table, before finally returning to Britney's face, clear and resolute.

"But my battlefield is behind the camera, not in front of the flashbulbs. Those gowns and jewels are beautiful, but that spotlight belongs to you, Britney. You were born to be a star onstage and onscreen." Her tone was sincere, without a trace of jealousy or regret. Instead, it conveyed a clear understanding of her friend's path and her wholehearted support.

"And as for me," Irene continued, her voice carrying an undeniable strength, "I'd rather people remember me for the stories on the screen than for whatever season's dress I'm wearing. Accepting that title would distract me. I'd rather devote all my energy to building the next 'world.'"

She gently tapped her glass against Britney's, producing a soft, clear chink. "So don't feel sorry for me. Fendi chose you because you're the best embodiment of 'it.' And turning it down was the clearest choice I could make for my own path. We're simply shining in different ways on our own stages."

She had never wanted to be a spokesperson for the capitalists. She wanted to enter the inner circle, where resources, connections, and influence were controlled, and join them through her own abilities, vision, and courage—become one of them.
