Arc 1The Soul Spirit Path

Gu Ci awakened extraordinary Martial Souls, helped Dugu Yan and Dugu Bo overcome their poisons and evolve, and developed Soul Spirits and Soul Tools. After gaining powerful rings and equipment, he and Dugu Yan concealed their abilities and arrived to enroll at Heaven Dou Royal Academy.

  • Gu Ci awakened the Thunder Prison Heaven-Slaying Tiger and Heavenly Eye, then used knowledge from his mysterious books to help Dugu Bo pursue a Soul Core and address Dugu Yan’s poison.
  • Gu Ci and Dugu Yan strengthened their bodies with Whale Rubber, explored Dugu Bo’s Immortal Herb Garden, and used the Ice and Fire Dual Pools to withstand its power.
  • Gu Ci formed Soul Spirit contracts with Zi Dian and Night Shadow, while Dugu Yan contracted with Mo Jiao and Ice Fire and transferred her accumulated toxins to Mo Jiao.

Gu Ci and Dugu Bo built an independent force around the Heavenly Workshop’s Soul Tools while Spirit Hall and other factions began watching their work. The arc ended with Gu Ci meeting Qian Renxue as Dugu Bo confronted Yue Guan and a shadowy companion outside Heaven Dou City.

  • Gu Ci and Dugu Yan joined Heaven Dou Royal Academy, where they grew close to Yu Tianheng and the other students as Spirit Hall’s conflict with the Clear Sky Sect escalated.
  • After Spirit Hall attacked the allied clans and the Clear Sky Sect expelled Tang Hao, Dugu Bo recruited old friends and brought the Ye Family into the Marquis Mansion’s growing force.

Arc 3The War at Cangyun Pass

Gu Ci grew stronger through Soul Battles and helped his family obtain powerful soul beasts before joining Gu Xiao on the front lines against the Star Luo Empire. After surviving the defense of Cangyun Pass and confronting the cost of war, Gu Ci returned to Heaven Dou City with royal rewards and a Soul Bone to examine.

  • Dugu Bo drove Yue Guan and Gui Mei away with his evolved Jade Scale Flood Dragon, then told Gu Ci about the battle and Spirit Hall’s interest in the Heavenly Workshop.
  • Gu Ci reached Rank 30, contracted the Thunder Pattern Tiger Emperor as Thunder Emperor, and competed with Dugu Yan as the Thunder Ice Team in the Great Soul Arena.
  • After the team rose through the arena ranks, Gu Ci accompanied Gu Xiao and Li Wanyue to the Star Dou Great Forest, where Gu Xiao gained an 80,000-year Thunder Pattern Tiger Emperor ring and Li Wanyue obtained the Phantom Pupil.
  • When the Star Luo Empire captured Wanghai City and Qingshi Pass, Gu Ci joined Gu Xiao’s Thunder Tiger Legion on its march to Cangyun Pass and helped identify a concealed route behind the fortress.

Arc 4Thunder Legacy and Cangyun Pass

Gu Ci earned his fourth Spirit Ring, received the Thunder God’s legacy, and prepared the Heavenly Workshop for Spirit Hall’s imitation Soul Tools. He joined the defense of Cangyun Pass, helped force the attackers to withdraw, and returned to Heaven Dou City with the surviving Thunder Tiger Legion.

  • Gu Ci broke through to rank forty and entered the Star Dou Great Forest, where he persuaded the fifty-five-thousand-year-old Silver Giant Tiger to become his Soul Spirit, Silver Crown, and gained his fourth Spirit Ring.
  • After returning home, Gu Ci learned from Qian Renxue that Spirit Hall might target the Heavenly Workshop, then negotiated with Xue Ye to exchange authorized use of its Soul Tool technology for funding, materials, protection, and a research institution.
  • The Ancient Thunder God appeared to Gu Ci in a vision, bestowed his legacy, and set a three-year trial for Gu Ci to reach level fifty in exchange for a God-Bestowed Spirit Ring.
  • Gu Ci demonstrated Heavenly Execution at the academy, improved the Heavenly Workshop’s Soul Tools, and learned that Spirit Hall had supplied imitation Soul Tools to the Star Luo Empire.
  • As the Star Luo Empire attacked Cangyun Pass and Gu Xiao’s forces suffered heavy losses, Gu Ci left a letter for Li Wanyue, Dugu Yan, and Ye Lingling and rode to the front with his Soul Spirits.
  • Gu Ci fought alongside the defenders through repeated battles, and after Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo trapped Murong Longcheng and Dugu Bo, he struck their domain with Heavenly Execution, causing them to withdraw.
  • The Star Luo Army retreated, Gu Xiao settled military affairs and led the survivors home, and Gu Ci returned to Heaven Dou City with the remaining Thunder Tiger Legion.
