In a grove in Peach Grove, Glasses finally found Dong Xiaoye behind a tree.

"What are you doing following me, you deadweight?" Dong Xiaoye said, glaring at him.

"I left quite a few pairs of glasses in the grove. They should be able to help you in a bit," Glasses said.

"Who needs help from a deadweight like you?" Dong Xiaoye wasn't the least bit grateful for his kindness. "I was going to deal with the person from Evolution Company, but it looks like someone more troublesome has their sights on us. Xue'er and the others will have to handle things on their own."

With that, Dong Xiaoye leaped in one direction. Two beams of light skimmed past her. Most importantly, they had come from different directions.

"Are two people attacking us?" Glasses asked in surprise.

"There's only one enemy. Watch out!" Dong Xiaoye shouted at him.

At the words "watch out," Glasses reacted quickly enough and vanished from where he stood. The next moment, he appeared in a peach tree. Then he saw dozens of beams of light rise from different parts of Peach Grove, curve through the air, and converge on a single point. That point was where he and Dong Xiaoye had been moments ago.

A thick pillar of ice rose from the ground there. Though it looked solid, it crumbled in an instant under the attacks coming from every direction.

"What do we do? Dong Xiaoye probably can't hold out much longer." Glasses watched that spot anxiously.

If your clothes can move with you when you teleport, why not try bringing someone along?

A voice suddenly spoke in Glasses's mind.

"Right!" Glasses said, not even stopping to wonder who had spoken. He raced toward Dong Xiaoye as fast as he could. The glasses he had used to switch places before had been destroyed in the beam attack.

Beams of light continued converging on the same spot from every direction.

By the time Glasses reached Dong Xiaoye, she was already in a sorry state. She held up a shield made of ice, constantly moving and using it to block any attacks she couldn't dodge.

But she was nearing her limit. Glasses could clearly see hundreds of beams shooting into the sky, almost lighting up all of Peach Grove.

Dong Xiaoye spotted Glasses running toward her. "Why are you back again? Ah! What are you doing?"

As Dong Xiaoye watched in astonishment, Glasses grabbed her and the two of them vanished. The next moment, countless beams converged on the spot where they had just been.

They reappeared beneath a tree, in exactly the same position as when they had first met—with him pinning her down.

"Get off me!" Dong Xiaoye kicked Glasses in the stomach, sending him flipping through the air.

"So this is how you thank the person who saved your life?" Glasses said.

"I never asked you to save me," Dong Xiaoye said. "We need to find Hunter's real body, fast."

"Huh? Weren't those attacks coming from all over the place?" Glasses asked.

"And you call yourself a resident of H City?" Dong Xiaoye looked at him as if he were an idiot. "That attack style could only belong to Hunter, H City's A-Class Hero."

"What? You're saying Hunter's been attacking us this whole time?" Glasses asked.

"Exactly." Dong Xiaoye nodded. "If we were fighting him head-on, I wouldn't be afraid of him. But a grove like this is perfect for hiding, which puts us at a serious disadvantage."

"Then how does his attack work?" Glasses asked.

"Hunter's ability is called 'Hunter.' It's an uncommon composite ability," Dong Xiaoye said. "What we know so far is that, in this area, he has an all-seeing view and can alter the trajectories of the guns he uses."

"So all he has to do is hide somewhere and fire wildly in every direction?" Glasses asked in surprise.

Dong Xiaoye nodded.

Just then, Glasses grabbed Dong Xiaoye again, and the two vanished once more. Dozens of beams rained down on the spot where they had stood.

"That all-seeing view is way too overpowered! He found us again in no time," Glasses cursed. The next moment, a foot slammed into his stomach.

"Are you doing this on purpose? You teleport in the same position every time. Or do you actually like it?" Dong Xiaoye kicked Glasses off her and cursed.

"You think I enjoy getting kicked by you every time we teleport?" Glasses said. "Anyway, this can't go on!"

"I know, but we have no way to scout him out. All we can do is buy time. Hopefully Xue'er can take care of her enemy. If she fails, we'll retreat at once," Dong Xiaoye said.

"How can we do that? Lin Jie and Xiao Zhan are still here. We can't just abandon our teammates and run!" Glasses protested.

"Do you have another idea?" Dong Xiaoye asked.

"No! But I'm not leaving either," Glasses said.

Brother, use my power!

The voice appeared in Glasses's mind again.

"Who are you?" Glasses finally remembered the strange voice that had appeared out of nowhere.

"What are you talking about?" Dong Xiaoye asked curiously.

"Can't you hear it? That strange voice?" Glasses asked, looking at her.

Brother, don't be surprised. You're the only one who can hear me.

The voice spoke again in Glasses's mind.

"Who are you?" Glasses asked in surprise.

I'm your glasses! The ones sitting on your nose!

"What? You're my glasses?" Glasses said in astonishment. "Impossible. My glasses don't have any special abilities like that!"

Brother, have you ever wondered why your teleportation ability only lets you switch places with your glasses?

"Who knows?"

Because your true power has nothing to do with moving through space.

The voice revealed something that left Glasses stunned.

"You're saying my ability isn't spatial movement? Then what is it?" Glasses asked in shock.

You're a man who possesses the soul of glasses!

"What the hell is the soul of glasses? That sounds like something weird just popped out of nowhere."

That's why people remember your glasses but can't remember what you look like. You're the only man in the world with the soul of glasses. One day, you'll become the King of Glasses, standing above all other glasses.

The voice spoke to Glasses with absolute conviction.

"Although what you're saying sounds grand, why does it make me feel so lame?"

Let me finish. Your true power is communicating with glasses. You can also awaken their latent powers.

"Awaken the latent power of glasses!" Glasses was stunned.

That's right. Now's the perfect time to use my power. I can definitely help you deal with the enemy in front of us.

"What should I do?" Glasses asked.

I'll guide you. I'm the Sage Glasses, created to guide the future King of Glasses.

A little while later, Glasses slowly opened his eyes. The glasses he wore had visibly changed.

"So that's how it works! Amazing, Sage Glasses!" Glasses said excitedly. His glasses had changed noticeably, and rows of data scrolled across his field of vision.

"Attack in three seconds..." Glasses turned to look at Dong Xiaoye.

"What are you doing?" Dong Xiaoye asked, staring at Glasses. He had just spent ages talking to himself. Why was he suddenly looking at her as soon as he went quiet?

But Dong Xiaoye had no time to react. Glasses rushed over and grabbed her.

The two vanished once more.

The third time Dong Xiaoye prepared to kick him, Glasses climbed off her by himself. He motioned for the newly risen Dong Xiaoye to stay quiet, then pointed in a direction and signaled for her to attack.

Dong Xiaoye was annoyed by his sudden change in behavior, but she still summoned an ice spear and sent it flying in the direction he indicated.

After piercing several peach trees, the spear seemed to hit a powerful obstacle in midair and exploded.

Then a human-shaped ice sculpture appeared out of nowhere in the clearing. Dozens of laser sniper rifles appeared around it as well.

"I hit him!" Dong Xiaoye cried in surprise, rushing up to the ice sculpture. "How did you know where he was?"

"I didn't know. This is the power of the Sage Glasses." Glasses proudly pointed to the glasses on his nose. "The Sage Glasses have incredible computing power. They worked out Hunter's firing patterns and used them to deduce his location."

Only then did Dong Xiaoye notice that the glasses on Glasses's nose had changed.

"If you had something this useful, why didn't you use it earlier?" Dong Xiaoye demanded. "Did you want to watch me struggle first, then show off how amazing you are? You four-eyed pervert!"

"No. I only just found out I had this power, when I was talking to myself," Glasses said.

"Did your ability evolve?" Dong Xiaoye calmed down.

"Something like that. Thanks to this thing, I managed to calculate where he was," Glasses said smugly.

"Then did you calculate this?"

A figure appeared out of nowhere beside Glasses and punched him hard in the face. Glasses went flying.

"It's Hunter!" Dong Xiaoye cried in surprise.

"You think I wouldn't guard against someone attacking my real body?" Hunter said to Dong Xiaoye. "The one you froze was only a decoy from my decoy ability."

"Is that so?" Dong Xiaoye said. "But you actually dared to show yourself. I guess you're confident in your ability."

As she spoke, a rush of cold air began to surge around her.

"My prey is already in my trap. What do I have to fear?" Hunter said.

As soon as he finished speaking, a strange device appeared where Dong Xiaoye stood.

"The X Field!" Dong Xiaoye cried in surprise.
