Background / History
Ten Gods became the public face and lead singer of the Ten Gods Family, a five-member superhero idol group whose performances combine music, posing, and staged heroics. He deliberately echoes Zero's famous declaration to excite his fans, presenting the group as humans devoted to eradicating evil rather than gods. 20
The group arranged a public confrontation with the Black Hand to manufacture a heroic victory and improve its reputation. The plan collapsed when the Black Hand leader revealed his genuine B-Rank strength: Ten Gods and his teammates were swiftly defeated. Despite their lack of contribution, the Hero Association altered the record to credit the Ten Gods Family with the capture. 20 21 23
Afterward, Ten Gods continued using hired criminals to stage performances, including Man-Eating Shark. Lin Jie repeatedly defeated the criminals before Ten Gods could act, leading Ten Gods to believe that Lin was deliberately sabotaging him. He eventually hired the B-Rank criminal Butcher to humiliate Lin, but Lin defeated Butcher instead. 44 48
Ten Gods confronted Lin and challenged him over what he believed was malicious competition. Lin defeated him with a casual punch. When an A-Rank Shadow Demon appeared shortly afterward, Ten Gods witnessed Lin rescue a civilian and destroy the creature without seeking recognition. Realizing that Lin genuinely did not care about rank, fame, or profit, Ten Gods chose to pursue heroism over idol work and asked Lin to train him. 48 49
Appearance
Ten Gods is exceptionally handsome and maintains a polished idol-hero image designed to draw fan attention. His performances center on stylish entrances, dramatic poses, and a microphone in hand. 20 44
- Leads performances with deliberately theatrical declarations of justice. 20 44
- His appearance, wealth, and celebrity status are specifically cited as major public attractions. 49
- Often poses before fighting while the rest of the Ten Gods Family provides music. 44 48
Personality
Initially, Ten Gods is intensely fame-conscious and treats superhero rankings as a competition for power, profit, popularity, and agency value. He assumes Lin Jie's interference is an attempt to suppress a rival, and he is angered by the thought that Lin has taken achievements that should have belonged to him. 48 49
He is also insecure beneath his confident stage persona. When faced with opponents genuinely beyond his ability, he panics or is overwhelmed, as seen against the Black Hand leader and the Shadow Demon. 21 49
Witnessing Lin risk himself for a civilian changes Ten Gods's outlook. He comes to admire Lin's indifference to public recognition and becomes determined to become a genuine hero, though his admiration is so strong that he continues calling Lin “Master” despite repeated refusals. 49 50
