Trading with Class C

With only two days left until the Midterm Exam, Kushida arrived at Class C's classroom early that afternoon after school.

One of the things Mu Tianchen had asked her to do was make a deal with Class C.

As people gradually filed out of Class C, she finally spotted the key figure she had been waiting for: Ryuen Kakeru.

"Ryuen, wait a minute." Kushida called out to Ryuen, who was about to leave. As usual, a group of "bodyguards" trailed behind him.

"If I remember right, you're Kushida from Class D. What are you doing here? Don't tell me you've come to spy on our class!"

Shiqi Dadi recognized Kushida and shot her a hostile look.

Ibuki and Albert, standing nearby, watched her warily, ready to keep her there if necessary.

Kushida, meanwhile, put on a wounded expression.

Seeing this, Ryuen gave a slight wave, signaling them to back off. "Well? What did you come to see me about?"

Ryuen's voice was calm, but his gaze was deep, as if he had already seen through her reason for coming.

"Let's talk in private."

Although Ryuen's underlings had backed away, they were still watching from nearby. There were also plenty of people passing through, so this wasn't a good place to talk.

Ryuen went straight back into the classroom, sent out everyone still inside, then called Albert and the others over from nearby.

"Stand guard outside. If anyone dares come in and interrupt us, I won't let you off!"

"Got it." Everyone nodded, returned to the classroom entrance, and closed the door behind them.

"Now you can relax," Ryuen said with a sneer. He had a feeling Kushida's visit was important.

Kushida couldn't help being surprised by Ryuen's series of actions. In Class D, she had to win people over to get a say, while Ryuen seemed to rule through force...

And yet he had managed to make so many people submit to him.

"I want to make a deal with Class C," Kushida said slowly.

"A deal? Let's hear it. What's in it for me?"

Ryuen didn't seem surprised at the mention of a deal. He casually propped his legs up on the desk and stared straight at Kushida.

"Then I'll get right to it. This Midterm Exam is a chance to earn a lot of Class Points. Your Class C wouldn't want to miss out, would you?"

"Class Points? Now that's interesting." Ryuen knew the exam offered a chance to earn a lot of points, but he also knew Class C's situation very well.

There were only a handful of students who were actually good at studying, and it was hard to get the idiots to improve in such a short time. He'd tried having the top students hold study sessions and help them, but the results hadn't been particularly impressive.

And if Kushida had come to talk to him about this, she must have had something in mind.

"I can help your class get high scores on this exam, but it'll cost you." Seeing Ryuen mull it over, Kushida continued.

"The cost is points, right?" Ryuen wasn't stupid. He immediately understood.

Kushida nodded. "I'll need a million points."

"A million? You're asking for a lot. But why should I believe you?"

A million was certainly expensive for Ryuen, but if it could significantly improve his class's Class Points, it might be worth it.

After all, most of the class's points were under his control, and in the long run, Class Points were far more valuable than personal points.

"I paid the school two million points for the answers to this Midterm Exam."

It was obviously a lie. Mu Tianchen had told her to use that line beforehand.

He'd told her to say it because, as far as he knew Ryuen, Ryuen wouldn't know that Past Exam Papers could be used this way.

Ryuen had poor grades and was a dictator. Even if someone in Class C had figured it out, no one would have dared tell him.

Besides, he tended to take the long view, so whether the story was true on the surface wasn't all that important to him.

Sure enough, Ryuen fell silent at her words.

He considered the idea of buying answers from the school. Whether or not it was true, given that anything could be bought with points at this school, it was certainly possible. And whoever had thought of it must have already figured out the rules.

Coming here to resell the answers was obviously a way to make points.

The answers probably did exist; otherwise, they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of negotiating with him.

Ryuen had considered going to the school himself to buy them. He didn't think the school would charge as much as two million points.

But there was no need. Drawing the school's attention would only put him under greater scrutiny, making some of his plans harder to carry out.

This person had cleverly seized on that and was profiting from the difference.

Ryuen could tell that Kushida was probably just the messenger.

The person who'd proposed the deal was still hiding behind the scenes. At the thought, Ryuen suddenly felt a flicker of unease.

Perhaps the person behind Kushida was the same one who had tricked him before...

"I agree to the deal. But can you tell me who's behind you?"

Ryuen stared into Kushida's eyes, as if he could find the answer there.

But Kushida wasn't about to betray him so easily. After all, he still had leverage over her, and she'd already taken his points.

"There's no one else. I came up with this myself," Kushida replied firmly.

"You expect me to believe you're that clever? Forget it. Sooner or later, he'll show himself."

Kushida was furious at Ryuen for saying that, but she had to maintain her sweet, angelic image, so she kept it to herself.

"Then sign this agreement." Kushida blinked cutely and pulled two sheets of paper from her pocket.

Ryuen took them. The terms were about a voluntary exchange, with the exchange set for the day before the exam.

Kushida was listed as Party A, but there was no telling whose account would receive the transfer.

An agreement like this could still be valid if both parties signed willingly, even without a witness.

As expected, she'd prepared it in advance.

"I only have 500,000 points right now. Is it okay if I transfer the other 500,000 on the first of next month?"

Ryuen had more than 500,000 points, of course. He was doing this to leave himself some room.

Better safe than sorry. Something unexpected might come up this month that required him to spend points.

"Sure." Kushida hesitated briefly, then agreed.

After signing the agreement, they quickly got up and left the classroom.

With only two days until the Midterm Exam, it was time for her to get busy with Class D's affairs...
