After the fiasco in Class D was resolved, Class B officially got back on track.
Every day was the same: studying, eating, shopping, heading back to the dorms, and occasionally getting together as a class to go to karaoke.
Of course, it seemed peaceful on the surface, but there were still a few things that were different.
For example, Yuki Gyakukai's mailbox, desk, and shoe locker were all crammed full of love letters in every color, from pink to white.
Even though everyone knew that Tomie Hanyu, the top-ranked beauty among the first-years, was his fiancée,
they had shown some restraint, but the letters had grown even more brazen.
For example: "Tomie Hanyu is my only rival, so I have a pretty good chance."
"Even though I respect Her Majesty the Queen, I'd still like to give it a try. It's not like I'm stealing her man, right?"
All right, all right. You may be anonymous, but I recognized you at a glance, Amakura Asako.
"C-could you accept me? I may not be very brave, and I'm not as pretty as Tomie, but I'm not bad either."
"..."
It really was so entertaining to read the love letters people wrote to you. No two were alike.
Yuki held the letter in his hand and sighed with heartfelt emotion.
I'm sorry, and I'm grateful for your affection, but unfortunately, I already have Tomie by my side.
"Yuki? What are you smiling about?"
In Yuki's room, Tomie smiled brightly, holding a spatula in one hand and a knife in the other. She looked a little dangerous.
Uh-oh!
Sitting off to the side, Amikura Asako, Kohashi Yume, and the others had come over to mooch a meal. They nervously lowered their heads and drank the freshly made miso soup.
"Nothing. I was just looking at some love letters."
Watching her fiancé act so solemnly, Tomie knitted her lovely brows slightly, but kept smiling.
"Are love letters really that interesting? Then I'll take out the ones in my mailbox and read them too."
"No!" Yuki's chauvinism flared up, and he rejected Tomie's suggestion in no uncertain terms.
He got up, passed everyone, and went to the kitchen doorway. He took the knife and spatula from her, put on an apron, and started cooking as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
At the same time, he kept talking.
"I know exactly what boys are thinking at a time like this. Their minds are full of filthy thoughts. Give me the key to your mailbox later, and I'll take care of those letters for you."
"Ha-ha~" Tomie's smile was bright, like a ray of sunshine rising on a winter's day. "Then I'll leave it to you, my dear fiancé."
After their chat, Tomie took off her apron and sat on Yuki's bed. She began sipping the miso soup, one small mouthful at a time.
At the same time, she delicately picked up a love letter, opened it, and began to read.
Judging by the furrow in her brow, Yuki was going to be punished again later.
Amikura Asako watched as Tomie passed over her letter and let out a quiet sigh of relief.
"Boss Tomie, why don't you do something about Gyakukai and tell him to stop accepting all these weird love letters?"
As soon as she said it, she regretted it. Why had she been so quick to speak?
Tomie replied calmly, "Would that even work? Men can't be controlled. You have to use other methods, and I have experience."
"Experience? Was Gyakukai popular even back then?"
At Ichinose's question, Tomie fell into reminiscence. "I think he's been pretty popular ever since kindergarten."
"Kindergarten?!" The six or seven girls still in the room were all taken aback. "You met that early? Does that mean you two are childhood friends?"
"We are childhood friends, but I'm not his only childhood friend."
As she spoke, Tomie gave Yuki, who was busy in the kitchen, a resentful look.
"Wait, there's more than one?" The other girls present sensed some juicy gossip and grew curious.
"Yeah. I still remember that by the time Yuki was in middle school, he was so popular—and he was also a student council discipline committee member—that he had 130 girlfriends at school all at once."
"Ptooey! What a womanizer!"
"Tomie, you must have had it rough, watching your fiancé date 130 girls."
Tomie remained composed. "The girls at school were all right. They were pretty easy to deal with.
"The real problem was all the girls in his family. They were each so clingy with Yuki, and much more troublesome to handle."
As they chatted after the meal, the girls took turns calling Yuki a womanizer, but their minds were already starting to turn.
Tomie was so indulgent, and Yuki had experience with so many girlfriends in the past. Did that mean he'd be especially easy to steal?
Tomie: Why are there homewreckers around me?!!
The days passed one by one.
During that time, several clubs invited Yuki to join. He turned them all down, but one club refused to give up, as if they couldn't go on without him.
That was the Swimming Club.
It was worth mentioning that Class B's P.E. teacher was also the Swimming Club's coach.
During swimming class, the P.E. teacher had been stunned by Yuki's incredible swimming form and speed. He'd immediately begged him to join the Swimming Club.
He said Yuki had the talent and ability, and that after some training, breaking the high school league record would be a piece of cake. He might even make it onto the world stage.
It was quite a sales pitch, but Yuki still turned him down.
Aside from Class B's little situation, the other three first-year classes had all experienced conflicts, directly or indirectly.
Of course, Class C was behind this whole series of incidents.
During study periods and breaks, they deliberately picked fights with Class A and Class D, making both classes lose focus on studying and causing tensions to escalate.
Even though everyone in the classes exercised restraint, minor conflicts kept happening.
The farce had been going on for just a week when Class A seemed to catch on to something. After signing a contract with Class C, they were no longer harassed at all.
After receiving 500,000 private points, Class C began intensifying its attacks on Class D, which was still a disorganized mess.
Violent incidents were common, but because of that video, Class D's weakness was firmly in Class C's hands.
As a result, the students in Class D were furious but afraid to speak up. As the situation worsened over time,
some Class D students gradually stopped coming to class, skipping school for an entire week at a time.
That was exactly what Class C wanted.
Watching Class C's actions grow increasingly systematic, Yuki opened his chat with Ryuen Kakeru.
"I didn't expect you to take control of Class C so quickly, but how did you get them to stop coming after me?"
Ryuen Kakeru: "Take control? I like that word. As for how I did it, you don't need to ask. You should thank me for that video of yours instead."
He glanced at the message, then turned off his phone screen.
It seemed Class C had made good use of the video. But Class A still hadn't made any moves.
Time soon flew by.
"Everyone, once today's over, tomorrow will be May 1st. It'll be time to hand out points again. Excited?"
It was the usual unserious Teacher Hoshinomiya, but this time she wasn't drinking, and there wasn't any of that bad smell either. It was a refreshing change.
The little suns of Class B eagerly responded to their teacher, chattering about how they would spend their points tomorrow.
"How will you spend your points? The teacher will probably go buy some alcohol.
"All right, all right, let's stop talking about that for now. First, everyone do this practice exam."
"Ehh—!"
