Background

Chu Tianwang married Jian Kongzhu, the Broken Sword Goddess of the Ancient Sword God Clan, breaking Sacred Heaven Sect custom by taking an outsider as his legal wife rather than marrying within the sect. They had three daughters and one son, Chu Tian. Chu Tianwang’s marriage and Chu Tian’s birth with the Chaos Demon God Body intensified the Ye Family’s unease over the Chu Family’s future influence. 5 19

As Vice Sect Master, Chu Tianwang adopted a restrained policy toward the Ye Family and instructed Chu Tian to keep a low profile. His concessions stemmed from his sworn brotherhood with Sect Master Ye Tianxiong, the Chu Family’s tradition of placing the sect first, and his desire to preserve Sacred Heaven Sect’s unity. 5 10

His later explanation reveals that this restraint was deliberate rather than born of weakness. Believing Ye Tianxiong better suited to manage the sect, Chu Tianwang supported him as Sect Master and helped raise Sacred Heaven Sect to unprecedented strength, intending for Chu Tian to inherit that powerful foundation. He also secretly crippled Ye Fan after judging the boy’s Primordial Sacred Bone a threat to his son. 161

The Ye Family’s plots against Chu Tian and Chu Tianwang’s children shattered this arrangement. When evidence linked Ye Hongwu to the theft of sect treasures meant to frame Chu Tian, Chu Tianwang publicly rejected Ye Tianxiong’s calls for delay and demanded accountability. 13 After learning that Chu Tian’s Eye of the Heavenly Dao had nearly been removed and that Chu Yunshang had been forced into the Supreme Yin Yang Art’s auxiliary formula, he severed his sworn brotherhood with Ye Tianxiong. 78

The accumulated betrayal devastated him. His hair turned white, he coughed blood, and he temporarily withdrew from active governance.
