Ichinose noticed the sign on Star Color's chest.
"If you want to recommend a club, why not go to the school forum?"
Star Color was dumbfounded. The school phones did have a website similar to a "school bulletin board"—part message board, part poster board. But it was managed by the school, not created by the students, and every account was linked to the user's phone name and student ID.
"Ah..."
Star Color froze. He'd really messed this one up.
"Now, now, it's not the end of the world if you forgot."
Ichinose reassured him.
"Why don't you come in and tell everyone about it?"
Ichinose took Star Color by the hand, then led him to the front of the classroom.
Everyone in Class B turned to look at Star Color, making him incredibly nervous.
"Everyone, would you mind listening to this student's club pitch? This is Otonashi Star Color from Class A."
"Sure!"
"She looks so cute!"
"Wow, what an adorable girl!"
I'm a boy! I'm a boy! Star Color roared inside. Of course, he couldn't let it show right now. He still had a club to promote, after all.
"Um... I'm Star Color from Class 1-A, and I'm a boy. Anyway... I'd like anyone who hasn't joined a club yet to consider joining my board game club... Uh... Well, if you like playing board games, come on over. You can even join as a nominal member... I'm just one person short. Thank you for listening to my rambling."
Star Color bowed.
A round of applause rose from the class... Wasn't that a bit much? Were they all just a bunch of good kids?
Star Color covered his mouth and turned away. This class was just too dazzling. This was the kind of normal school life he'd wanted...
Thinking of all the eccentric people in Class A, then looking at Class B, he couldn't help but feel that they were a breath of fresh air! They were all normal people. It was wonderful.
Just then, a red-haired girl with a commanding presence stepped forward.
"I'll join."

"Don't treat me like a puppy! Hey! You're such a mean person."
"Then good luck running your club. Maybe I'll join someday if I feel like it."
"You'd be very welcome, Sakayanagi."
After school, he turned in the form to Senior Horikita.
"Exactly three people?"
"I'll think about expanding later!"
Star Color interlaced his fingers and gave an innocent smile that could charm most people.
"Fine. I'll let you know tomorrow where the Board Game Club's room is and who its advisor will be."
"Thank you, Senior Horikita."
Manabu Horikita pushed up his glasses.
"You earned this spot yourself. Why thank me?"
"Um, I think it's only polite."
Manabu remembered how Star Color had acted crazy the day before, and how the nickname he'd called him and the way he'd spoken had been anything but polite.
"Well, if there's nothing else, I'll head back."
Star Color opened the door and saw Senior Nagumo waiting outside.
"Would you mind if I had a chat with this kid, Senior Horikita?"
"Huh?"
Star Color looked at Miyabi Nagumo in confusion.
Manabu glanced at Miyabi and replied calmly,
"That depends on what the person in question thinks."
"I don't mind talking."
Star Color smiled.
The orange-haired girl behind Miyabi immediately hugged Star Color.
"So cute~ You're so soft."
"Um... Senior Nagumo, could you ask her to let go...?"
