"An additional deduction of 40 points? Why would there be an additional deduction of 40 points?!"
Gil, his face utterly drained of color, screamed hysterically.
Unfortunately, the game gave him no time to leave any last words.
Amid violent electric currents and an uncontrolled fall, Gil was soon plunged into the embrace of the Profane Calamity Water along with the metal tray.
The sounds of struggling did not last long. They did not even continue until the mechanical announcement began.
"I knew you were going to pull something sneaky. Serves you right!"
Golbu spat viciously toward where Gil had fallen and cursed angrily.
Only after he finished speaking did the mechanical announcement arrive belatedly.
"Question Nine: The 'Living Spring Jade Chrysalis' is a highly popular delicacy among low-ranking demons. During its preparation, what ingredient can be added to make it even more delicious?"
"A hundred Goblin chefs well versed in fine cuisine unanimously believe that feeding the main ingredient a large quantity of Rock Marrow Beans before the dish is completed will make the 'Living Spring Jade Chrysalis' incomparably delicious!"
"Meanwhile, ninety-nine Glutton Demons who claimed to have sampled every delicacy in the Demon Domain insisted that the most delicious preparation of the 'Living Spring Jade Chrysalis' was to feed the main ingredient a large quantity of rotten flesh before the dish was completed. The higher the quality of the rotten flesh, the more delicious the dish would be!"
"Begin answering now."
The timer chimed, yet no one discussed the answer in the darkness.
Nor did anyone pick up on Golbu's words to comment on Gil's death.
Only Babayak's deeply puzzled voice rang out:
"My lord, how did you know Gil was lying in the previous round?"
"Weren't you afraid that he had thought one step further ahead than you?"
