Three heads, six arms, its body forged from black mist.
Its face bore no eyes, ears, mouth, or nose, yet it could hear sounds and discern colors.
Lu Li immediately sensed the disdain directed at him by the six-armed giant.
But that emotion was swiftly concealed completely, turning into the calm stillness of an ancient well.
"An old friend? Impossible... This is absolutely impossible!" The slime-like black-green substance writhed incessantly, shrieking in a noisy, piercing voice.
Though it had no face, that did not prevent Lu Li from sensing the extreme terror emanating from it.
He did not interrupt their conversation. Instead, he quietly took half a step back, intending to observe in silence first.
Little did he know, that small movement had still caught the black mist giant's notice. It tilted its head slightly and looked down at him.
At that very moment, Lu Li noticed several hair-thin black threads between himself and the black mist giant.
The two of them seemed to be connected through them.
"The facts are right before your eyes. What could possibly be impossible?" The black mist giant did not address Lu Li, instead continuing to look at the black-green substance as it spoke in a deep voice.
"But you—how long has it been since we last met? How did you end up like this?"
"I..." The black-green substance seemed to have had its sore spot struck, its writhing body instantly falling still.
Only after a long while did it shriek with immense resentment:
