A villa in Cleveland:

"Damn it, Rich, I need to strengthen the roster!"

LeBron James watched Dwyane Wade lift his FMVP trophy on TV and couldn't help feeling envious and resentful!

They were both rookies from the 2003 draft. LeBron was the Chosen One!

And yet?

Three years had passed, and only this year had he led his team to the playoffs.

Then they faced the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference semifinals. After a grueling seven-game series, they fell to the Pistons and were eliminated.

And Wade?

First, he led his team to a 4–2 win over the Chicago Bulls in the first round. Next, they eliminated the New Jersey Nets 4–1 in the second round. Then, in the third round—the Eastern Conference Finals—they dispatched the Detroit Pistons, who had knocked out LeBron James, with ease, 4–2.

Finally, in the Finals, they beat the Dallas Mavericks 4–2 and won the championship for the 2005–06 season.

Wade averaged 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists to win FMVP!

He was also hailed as the first player from the 2003 Platinum Generation to win a championship.

Seeing all this, LeBron James, whom the media had been hyping up, felt a little embarrassed!

However, as LeBron saw it, the reason Wade had won the championship before him was Big Shark O'Neal.

At Rich Paul's words, a radiant smile spread across LeBron James's face.

With the Finals over, fans turned their attention to the upcoming draft.

This year's draft was packed with talent.

Andrea Bargnani from Italy.

In the 2003–04 season, Andrea Bargnani signed with Benetton Treviso, a team in Italy's top basketball league.

During his three seasons with Treviso, Andrea Bargnani helped the team win the 2005–06 Italian League championship.

That made Andrea Bargnani one of the leading candidates for the first overall pick in this year's draft.

Besides Andrea Bargnani, LaMarcus Aldridge and Adam Morrison were also among the top contenders to go first.

But in the eyes of Dragon Country's fans, all the attention was on one person: just 19 years old, Chinese, and a sharpshooter from the University of Florida—Su Yi!

Su Yi had spent just one season at the University of Florida before bursting onto the scene. His deadly outside shooting won over fans, while also helping the University of Florida make it to March Madness.

He led them to victory over one opponent after another, and ultimately to the championship.

He was already hugely popular locally. It wasn't just his performance on the court; he also had a handsome, mixed-race face.

It was like seeing a beautiful woman simply standing there—people would turn to stare as they walked by. And what if she could also play video games—and was insanely good at them?

Of course, gods and goddesses still had to eat and use the bathroom!

Time passed, and before long it was June 28. The 2006 NBA Draft was about to take place in the theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

A young man walked in, dressed in a black suit. He had a head of jet-black hair and a handsome, mixed-race face.

It was Su Yi.

Walking beside him was a young man a head shorter, also dressed in a suit. His name was Xu Rui!

He and Su Yi had been buddies since they were kids!

They were both Chinese!

A year ago, Su Yi had been hit by a car and taken to the hospital. When he woke up, Xu Rui discovered that he had changed completely.

Most notably, he'd gone from a sports idiot to a sports prodigy. He kept getting better at basketball, even making the school team, and girls were throwing themselves at him every day.

Xu Rui had considered getting hit by a car himself.

But then he decided against it. He was afraid of pain!

"Yi, I really owe it all to you that I get to be here."

Xu Rui said excitedly.

"You'll have plenty of chances from now on. Didn't you say you wanted to be my agent?"

Su Yi replied as they walked. Then he found an empty corner and sat down. He didn't have what it took to get into the Green Room.

He figured he'd be picked near the end of the first round or at the start of the second.

"I'll get certified soon. Just you wait, Yi!"

Xu Rui said with confidence.

These days, as society developed, college degrees had become less valuable. It was becoming more and more common for graduates to find themselves unemployed right after graduation.

Xu Rui had a sharp eye. After seeing Su Yi's talent on the basketball court, he immediately went to get certified, vowing to become Su Yi's agent.

Of course, even if Su Yi didn't make it into the NBA, Xu Rui figured having another certification wouldn't hurt.

One more certificate meant one more option!

"Keep it up. I've got high hopes for you!"

Su Yi said with a smile.

Then the two sat there chatting away until the draft began.

When David Stern walked to the center of the stage, it meant the 2006 NBA Draft was officially underway.

David Stern said a few brief words, then got right to it.

Sure enough, things went much as they had in his previous life.

The Toronto Raptors used the first overall pick to select Andrea Bargnani from Italy.

Next, the Chicago Bulls used a high draft pick to select LaMarcus Aldridge.

Time flew by, and soon the draft reached the final ten picks of the first round.

Su Yi sat up straighter, anticipation building.

He'd tried out for quite a few teams, and many of them had given him only a verbal promise.

Naturally, Su Yi believed only half of what they said.

"With the 21st pick, the Phoenix Suns select Rajon Rondo from the University of Kentucky!"

Hearing that, Su Yi couldn't help pursing his lips. Figures I could only trust them halfway.

The Phoenix Suns had promised him a spot.

Still, it was all right. The Los Angeles Lakers at pick 26, the Dallas Mavericks at 28, and the New York Knicks at 29 had all promised him a spot. He couldn't help getting his hopes up.

Which team would he end up with?

"With the 25th pick, the Cleveland Cavaliers select Su Yi from the University of Florida!"

"Ahhh! Yi, you really got drafted!"

Xu Rui immediately threw his arms around Su Yi.
